Dobson considers his opinion more important than the Judgment of God? Does anyone doubt that Newt has asked for, and been granted, the forgiveness of God? Christianity gives us many Saints and Biblical figures who have MUCH WORSE than anything Gingrich is accused of doing. King David is described as a “Man after God's own heart” for instance -— and he made sure a troublesome husband died so he could have the wife for himself!

David repented for the things he did, he did not continue to Murder, commit adultry, etc... Newt, I'm sure has sorrow for what he did, God is willing to forgive, but he must repent also. he cheated on his wife so he can't marry.

MATT 19:3-9 3 Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?” 4 And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, 5 and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” 7 They *said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?” 8 He *said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. 9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

"I don’t think Newt was preaching at Clinton about his sex life. I think there was a little matter of lying to a grand jury involved but everyone seems to have forgotten that. The leftwing media has done their job well."

CORRECT on both points. And to your 1st point don't forget Subornation of perjury - when Willie adviced Monica Wolinski's to lie before that grand jury.

This is not your call.
If the wedding involved did not produce a valid marriage?
That “marriage” is null and void.

Your interpretation is flawed.

Whatever Newt has done in the past, and that includes tricking himself out to Freddie Mac to the tune of $2.5 million and selling out conservatism in 1996 and fawning over Pelosi on the couch and touring with Al Sharpton... whatever he has done in addition to his sleazy philandering and cheating is OKAY because... because he has been “open and honest” about it all.

He’s a humanist in Catholic clothing or conservative clothing or whatever clothing or non-clothing suits the occasion... a true Chameleon.

I just want to know why folks who call themselves “true conservatives” endorse Gingrich instead of Santorum.

You could neutralize a vote for Obama but you will choose not to. As bad as McCain was, this is the attitude that put Obama in the White House.

For decades it’s been go along to get along. NO MORE!
Sorry wife is ranting...have. to run... later.

Who would you vote for?

1. Someone who had an abortion but converted and has a staunchly pro-life voting record and vows to overturn Roe Vs. Wade?

2. Someone who never had an abortion but is a staunch pro-abortion Planned Parenthood advocate and vows to provide taxpayer funding for abortion on demand.

We need to separate the personal from the political, especially when the person has reformed, repented and changed their ways. We’re hiring someone to do a job for us and accomplish something.

Well, at least BHO is faithful to his family. You want to put Newt up against that?

Is he? Was he?

The MSM will never report it, but read about Larry Sinclaire and how he was held incognito so his sickening accusations and allegations against Obama would not come out.

You want a President who is faithful to his wife, vote for Jimmy Carter.

Nice try. We are still in the primary so that doesn't quite work. Santorum just won the Iowa primary and is actually faithful to his wife.

Mrs. Santorum sure is a lucky lady - after her first foray in the romance department....she found Rick and redemption.

No double standards - Newt was an innocent lad when his first wife seduced him. Apparently, Newt then ran head first into another calculating predator - and then - third time lucky for Newt.

On a level playing field there are men and women who are too gullible and others who are calculating predators.

You know, sodpoodle, I've often admireded over my years of FReeping your sage outlook on the world. That was a very sound post. I think your kids are mighty blessed to have you as a parent.

Gingrich is WAY flawed, he's been frighteningly progressive at times, he's a wild card, he could go sideways in office and do heavy statist damage, but then again, he could -- as he has done before -- use his talents and his passion to help turn America back toward the Constitution, liberty, and limited government. To my mind, he has the best qualifications in our current pool of candidates. Those qualifications include eloquence and the ability to make Americans rise to give not Newt a standing ovation, but a standing ovation FOR THE IDEAS HE IS CONVEYING.

He's the only Republican in the running that has that ability, judging from what I've seen of Santorum.

Many anti-Newt people here seem to think that if you're for Newt in this race, then you must therefore think Newt is perfect. It's exasperating because they know in their hearts that most of us are very much aware of Newt's flaws but weighing the odds, are willing to risk that he's the best bet.

Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

"As bad as McCain was, this is the attitude that put Obama in the White House."

Have to disagree. No one put Obama in the White House but McCain himself!

After running a campaign of praising Obama and attacking Americans who criticized Obama what else could have been expected?

If he attacked Obama as hard as he attacked Conservatives he would have won!

Better learn a lesson this time and pick a fighter and not someone who'll kiss Obama & the media's @$$es.

People “like you” fed us conservatives the same line of crap about McCain..

McCain would have been a far better than Obama. We have two younger radical liberals on the Supreme Court, five trillion more in debt and Obamacare thanks to Obama's election.

That being said, Gingrich is far more conservative than McCain.

I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect character in our leaders.

God did, too, in the Bible. But, sometimes He had to settle for less. King David had some serious character flaws. Yet, God used him.

You're right. I don't want to have to explain to Democrats why the Republican candidate of the family values party is a twice-divorced multiple adulterer while the Democrat is a product of a failed marriage whose mother was divorced twice, but who seems to understand why marriage is important and seems to have avoided replicating in his own life the immoral behavior of his father.

Jimmy Carter versus Ronald Reagan is the standard example of why we need to vote for a person who has a biblical understanding of the limited role of the state, even if he is not necessarily the most pious or devout candidate.

We're selecting a civil ruler, not a church elder or pastor. There are differences in the qualifications.

It **DEFINITELY** does matter to me, as an evangelical.

Gingrich's repentance may or may not be real. I'm not his priest, I don't know what went on in the confessional, but repentance bears fruits and the sincerity of Gingrich's repentance, to say the very least, is not clearcut.
