What can we, as a community, do so support Newt?

Posted on 01/20/2012 10:13:07 AM PST by Raebie

What can we do in an organized fashion?

Fundraisers, social media, volunteerism? I know we can sign up as individuals on his site, but what can we do as a community? There is strength in numbers and together we are a powerful voice.

Thoughts?

The next thing you want to do is run everyone off that does not agree with you. Go Santorum, the games is not near over.

Using twitter can be very effective. For example, someone on FR said Santorum is not on the ballot in x, y, z states. I tweet out that he can't win if not on the ballot in x,y,x don't waste your vote. I used hash tags of everything to get the tweet on lists. I gained about 25 followers after that tweet. Now I have more I can educate.

You can also pull up a name such as Sarah Palin, and then follow all kinds of people who follower her. This adds to your list of followers and then more to educate.

Once primary is over, I plan to hold nose and add liberal followers. They really need to be educated.

What would be nice is if FR had one main tweet account that we could follow. Tweets from FR to FR can then be shared to those not on FR. I know there are some FRs who are tweeting, but coordinating so we can get messages out to max people would save time. It would be easy to start a twitter campaign to write in Newt in VA. Just need to push it on Twitter to Newt, Palin, Cain, Perry, anyone but Mitt fans.

I don’t think they allow write ins but you may be able to go through the process and cast a blank ballot, or no vote. If a much larger number of people voted than cast ballots for paul and Romney it would be telling.

How to help?

Get off yer arse.

If you aren’t already active in your local Republican clubs, do so NOW before they are solidified for the Establishment pick.

This is how the Tea Party made such great strides for us across the country in 2010 that resulted in around 1,000 NEW legislators across the country, along with many more governors - at the state level,a as well as the great gains in Washington.

It’s ridiculously easy to make a difference in your local groups that go on the make the big difference across the country and in who goes to Washington...(the hardest part may be locating the phone numbers! If all else fails, call info operator for “your state’ Republican Party...they will have your local listings. And/or call you county reps or your state reps.)

Also, its very easy to get elected to become a delegate in your state conference in the spring - coming right up - where you will meet your senators and congresscritters and other elected officials - and where you get to vote on the platform and candidates.

You can also connect there with other locals working on Newt’s campaign, go to/hold a ‘tea’, etc...likely meet Newt before the Nov vote.

THIS is where Newt needs us. THIS is where WE need us.

Remember, as Lincoln said: “He has the right to criticize, who has the heart to help”

Photoshop Newt as the honey badger and let it go viral.

What can we do?
Start a Newt Blog—Newtspeak—to highlight all things Newt and list his great ideas. Independent Pro-Newt news site.

Call into talk shows and support Newt—especially on left wing shows.

Write a letter to the editor telling why you support Newt.

Start a meet up of newt supporters in you community over the net—meet at a Pizza joint and share what you can do over Beer and Pizza.

Design Newt Posters on your computer—Print them out and post them. Make them simple—not controversial—Like Go Newt Go or Newt for President.

Make designs for Tee shirts—

Lots of things to do....

Does one have to join Twitter to participate?
