Just voted!! [for Newt]

Turnout was fairly heavy in my precinct on the eastside of Greenville. I think a lot of people realized that conservatives must unite around one candidate.

Strategic political reasoning.

If you don’t get your foot in the door from the outset, you lose the ability to affect the eventual outcome.

Legislation supported by ‘watermelons’ (green on the outside, red on the inside) has had a devastating effect on the U.S. economy. Conservatives didn’t get involved soon enough. It was important that such legislation reflect real science and not anti-business bias on the part of envio-nazis.

Could Newt have gone about it in a way he wouldn’t appear to be hand-in-hand with La Pelosi? Yes, and he has admitted such.

So Newt wins the GOP primaries and surprisingly selects Paul as his running mate. The duo get slammed in the general election, leading to the following headline:

NEWT-RON BOMB

“And one thing we can all do is pray for Rick, that he sees it, if that’s the case. “

Yes, And I would love to see him run next time (if things continue the direction it appears today)
He will have more experience and better control.

Thanks for confirming I recalled the poll correctly. Appreciate it.

Leave it to you to pimp ONE poll where Santorum leads Gingrich by just ONE point.

Seriously friend, are you really that desperate for a miracle? Whatever. Good luck.

TURNOUT TWEETS:

“Over 1800 people have already voted on Daniel Island. What great turnout!!”

@chucktodd & MSNBC getting reports of heavy turnout in Pickens, Greenville and upstate, even with weather. Should help Newt

gone up on Newt win: more than 5% now is real possibility. Mitt needs good turnout in midlands & low country

The Greenville News - In Greenville, turnout has been heavy; Anderson has been “steady, but not overwhelming,” state election commission says

I’ll be darned...turns out I was living just down the road at the time Callista graduated from high school! I guess that means I’m a little closer to Newts age than to hers ;-) She’s also a graduate of Luther College in Decorah IA, where the company I worked for had an operation.

Small world. I never would have guessed had I not clicked on your link.

We have been to a few Tea Parties in Greenville, and always impressed with the turnout. While the local media reported “1000” in attendance in April of 2009, I have pics to prove the crowd was at least 10,000. Thanks for the report.

Interesting. I take it that the poll workers being impressed is indicative of the interest people in SC have in getting rid of Obama? Let’s hope it holds through to November.

I’m with you. It was so nice to come home today and not find 5-7 useless messages on my answering machine.

Gotta hand it to the Myth. He pounded me pretty good on the phone. Always a message, sometimes two. Lot of good it did :)

Here is SC's ballot exactly as it appeared on my voting screen.

"Despite only four candidates remaining in the race, the names of candidates who dropped out such as Rick Perry and John Huntsman remain on the ballot.  The Election Commission says any vote for an inactive candidate remains with that candidate."

No point to this except to confuse the already confused, typical SC election.

"Voters in much of South Carolina dodged raindrops and even braved a tornado watch to get to polling stations Saturday.  The state election commission told NBC some precincts in Newberry, Fairfield and Saluda counties experienced power outages.  Some precincts had to use paper ballots until power was restored.

Election officials in Richland County informed the state office that turnout has been "Medium to heavy in northern precincts, and steady to light elsewhere.""

This is good, the Ron Pauls and iBama marxists are downtown, especially around USC. northern area is Ft Jackson and upper scale areas, like Spring Valley.

In Lexington County, election officials say turnout has been "Mostly light, but steady in some precincts."

Probably will pick up for the final 2 hours as the rain has stopped.

Orangeburg County election officials say turnout has been "Extremely low.""

iBama terriitory. People with common sense avoid Orangeburg whenever possible.

Question for SC Voters?

How long does it take to count all the votes in SC? I have some analysis I want to work on ASAP. Is this going to be like IA where we are at 95% for 8 hours getting the last 5% in, or will everything come in quickly?
