Skip to comments.SC Primary - - Live Thread

It's 0930 EST and there's nothing in the sidebar that looks like a live thread for the SC primary . . .
Faux is putting it mildly. More like the BS Network! I had to change the kitchen TV to see?NN before she split it with a very sharp meat cleaver!
Is there a channel that doesn’t promote violence??
I apologize if this has been posted recently, but...Newt is up to 91.6 on InTrade. Good grief, Charlie Brown!
We can’t stop our war on Rinoism. Its equally as bad as the dem rats. Thank God for the Tea Party. Both sides are trying to downplay their importance of the tea Party Pats but the mere comparisons between them and their sides Occupy idiots has to be glaring for all to see. Which one will most sane Americans side with? It’s not even a contest.
Here we go...
2/3rds SC voters say debates mattered.
And if its on and Rove appearscant turn it off fast enough!
If Romney gets crushed I might make an exception.
Just like I will watch MSNBC election night if it looks like Gingrich will win..:)
Does anyone besides me find it extremely odd that there are NO exit poll results posted on this FOXnews website right now, with only a short time left to vote?
One wonders if they aren’t reporting the results on the website because they don’t like what they are hearing. Things that make you go, “Hmmmm.”
Hey, rodguy! Won’t be long before we know what SC thinks of the candidates. Looks like Newt might win this.
Thank You...All stuff folks were throwing away. I am disabled and this is where I sit about 80% of the time. Go to ARRL.org and tell them I sent you :)If I can be of assistance freepmail me.
Getting close to closing time at the polls! Go Newt!
Oh, and GO NEWT!
“We have a housekeeper for housework...”
Hey that’s what money is for, to make life easier. :)
And the Five I don’t blame yew. It’s just a whole lot hot air.
Whenever people bring up the old “Pelosi-couch” argument up, I just ask two questions:
1. Did YOU ever make a mistake?
2. How many times has Obama screwed up since taking office?
Faux is putting it mildly
The foxes are acting more like weasels than foxes.
I heard Kudlow today on WABC shamelessly blast Newt for exposing what Bain Capital did in its early stages up until capital got hard to get and expensive.
Bain gutted many a small business instead of trying to save them.
They loaded up these companies with borrowed debt in their(the company, not Bain's) name then gave themselves huge dividends with the borrowed cash.after that they watched them go down over the next few years.Shameful,IMHO.
I thought 5p, but I am not certain. About 20 minutes ago, Fox mentioned that it closed in about an hour.
Fox just said that they are going to start reporting polling results.
GO NEWT GO.....
not now cause it would mess up a great beer buzz , but I’ll shoot ya a freep mail.... cause we need to swap notes.
I get the same sense about what Newt will do as president, as you do. He's at that age where he's got one last chance to make a real mark on America's history.
Future generations won't remember the Speaker of the House who did so much to keep America on the track that Reagan laid before us, but they will remember a president who turned the country away from a deathly fall over the precipice of bankrupt Socialism, and who restored our country to its rightful greatness.
I believe that Newt sees the historic fork in the road ahead, just as well, or better than any of us do. Like us, he knows that this is perhaps the most pivotal point of the last one hundred years, and that the person who sits in the Oval Office for the next four years, will likely determine which fork of that road this country takes.
I don't believe that he would take on this great task, simply to gain another feather in his cap. He knows full well that the times (and the people) will demand extraordinary things of the next president, and that nothing about the job will be 'business as usual'. Whoever sits in that chair starting in January of 2013, is going to be waging a battle like none we've seen in living memory.
I honestly believe that he sees this clearly, and that he's the only one of the four Republican candidates who has mentally prepared himself for that fight.
Thank you... I had it wrong.... time zone confusion.
It is very important for the LSM to try and keep the Conservatives divided. BUT THANK GOD, Conseratives are aware of their lame attempts.
They will back the underdog, count on it!
Great pics! You and your son must be very proud to be standing with the next POTUS and first lady.
Arrrrrrrrrrgh. I GIVE UP. There is almost no info on S. Carolina primary on this thread. It has been hijacked by snarky comments about competing candidates.
Several people must have been studying up using rules for radicals, cause they are using them right and left. And the redundancy is astonishing.
EE GADS the horse is dead already, I wish they’d quit beating it.
Sorry, can’t reply to that in this thread. :)
He also does not compromise his position. At one point he was asked by some gay guy what he would do to appeal to gay Americans. Newt essentially said that those who care about the economy and national security should vote for him. Anybody who only cared about Gay Marriage should vote for Obama. This refusal to pander is what sold me.
I would like to see him say something similar to some member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
POLLS CLOSE IN SC AT 7PM EST.
Excellent post and my sentiments exactly. GO NEWT GO!
I think Newt and Santorum are both good men, but if South Carolina goes as expected tonight, then it will be crystal clear that the only way to stop Romney is Gingrich. That suits me fine.
Gingrich has all the makings of a fine President. Romney is neither likable nor is he respected. Gingrich has high negatives thanks to a merciless beating by the press, but those can change. Where Gingrich beats Romney hands down and where he beats the world is R E S P E C T. Gingrich commands respect and even inspires a little fear. This isn’t a bad quality for a President. It has been sorely lacking in the oval office since the 1980s.
Particularly early in his career, Reagan had the same quality, telling America’s adversaries, both foreign and domestic, that we didn’t much care whether we were loved. WE WOULD BE RESPECTED. Remember how fast Khomeini released the hostages after Reagan was sworn in. I think he knew that the Gipper meant business. So did the world. Which is probably the reason we had so few military engagements during the Reagan years. Ronald Reagan was worth a division or two. So is Newt Gingrich.
And as far as America’s domestic enemies (read:news media) no one skewers and cows them better than Gingrich. Like Palin, he refuses to let them frame the debate and when they attack, he punches them back so hard they see stars
I remarked on that in the live thread also. Newt translated national economic issues into real terms that affect the people in the audience, 1 of 5 of which he said depend in some way on the Port of Charleston for their livelihood. That was masterful debating, and it takes not only a keen mind but a command of the issues to do what Newt does so effortlessly. The contrast between Newt and Obama or Biden is like comparing an 8 core Xeon processor with an 8080 ;-)
(OK, in Biden’s case it’s like comparing a Xeon vs. a broken abacus)
Puke. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on FNC now. Why did i even turn it on?
For sure Girlene. Last I heard he was ahead almost double digits! An amazing accomplishment! Here is only part of the reason. Romney’s spin about Bain.
Some of the comments on this thread are very revealing well worth reading.
Another very good post. Again my sentiments are the same as yours. GO NEWT GO!
I thought so too, but Gator113 at post 969 just reported that Faux is going to start the polling results!
Stand fast South Carolina - for the Republic!
Has anyone posted the SC Sec. of State site?
I don’t have time to go through the whole thread right now.
Uh, you should know you’re going to get faster election results from TV than from an internet thread commenting about what’s on TV...
I'm with you, Marcella. I actually bailed on the thread somewhere in the 300's or so, because of the raging religious war. I wondered where the SC Primary thread went.
Only came back to reply to some pings, and now I see the Old Man has sent the squabblers elsewhere. Thank goodness!
Back to the thread!
I pity anyone who goes after Newt.John King probably won’t be sitting down for weeks. And he’s just the latest!
It almost seems like Romney is being crushed so badly that they fear discouraging any last Romney voters from bothering to show.
..I couldn't have said it better
Newt is not a threat to the Republic--Romney is--Obama wants to destroy it...
Very true. Obama inspires terror...that he is going to attack and destroy everything this country is built on...combined with an urge to laugh because he is such a dim bulb that he couldn't possibly do it (although his "advisers," such as Bill Ayres, could).
But Gingrich seems to have a plan and a way to get to it and he's not going to back down.
CNN just went live.
Will they have any Exit info?
Wow, what a change in this Thread! Nice breath of fresh air!
I think I am actually going to catch up!
Polls close in 1 hr
First exit poll in..CNN
