Senator John Kerry surprised a few people at the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup ceremony at the White House Monday afternoon.

The 68-year-old senator had two black eyes and a swollen nose.

His spokeswoman Whitney Smith told WBZ-TV Kerry broke his nose playing ice hockey recently

This rates another Purple Heart for this brave man. At least the skin was broken and bruised for this award, unlike his past 413 Purple Hearts..

I don’t like or respect the man, but I sure can relate to his love of a game and continued participation. I’m 68 too, and play basketball at least twice a week most weeks. I frequently sport black eyes, bruises, Ace bandages or band-aids as a result.

Still being able to run with those 40-50 year old kids makes me appreciate that God has been better to me than I deserve!

I don’t know about claiming another bogus Purple Heart, but Sen. Kerry might just claim to have received this ‘hit’ while playing for the Bruins in the recent “Winter Classic.”

As a reminder of what was passed around (much to the bottom-feeding, Rat-Bas-turd, traitor's consternation) during the 04 campaign, as it was FACTUAL, that one of his Purple Hearts (which he finagled after his Commander laughed at him and refused to authorize the issuance thereof) was for a tiny piece of shrapnel he received in his arm (AS A RESULT OF A SELF-INFLICTED WOUND by stoooopidly firing a grenade close to shore) and the treatment thereof, including removing the sliver of shrapnel from our great "Hero's" arm with a pair of tweezers and the medic applying a Band Aid

How the hell can you break your nose playing hockey and receive two black eyes, but no visible damage to your nose? There wasn't any report of Kerry's injury over the weekend up here, unless I missed it. It seems as though a story like that would've made one of those good filler pieces, though.
