Bill O'Reilly blasts Joe Paterno and Catholic bishops for being afraid - of what?
Former Farmer

Posted on 01/24/2012 4:42:09 PM PST by Former Farmer

Bill quotes Joe Paterno as saying he had never dealt with anything like this and didn't know what to do. Bill then condemns him for being afraid. But Bill won't say what Joe fears. Bill compares this to the scandal in the Roman Catholic Church. Bill then condemns the bishops for being afraid. But Bill won't say what the bishops fear. Bill himself is afraid: he doesn't dare mention "Homosexual."

The "No-Spin Zone," it turns out is captive to political correctness.

Bill is not the only moral coward.

In all the reporting I've read on the Penn State scandal, none of the media dares mention that it is about Homosexuality. Some gay men rationalize raping boys as justified because if gay men feel oriented toward boys, they cannot be expected to control their behavior. Bill is afraid to say that NAMBLA's man-boy love is morally wrong.

What does Bill think will happen to him if he tells the truth?

For being afraid of the impact of charges on the individuals will have on the overall organization.

Weed your garden and it will thrive.

BOR once again proves himself a coward. If he ever had a problem with Joe, he waited till the guy was dead before saying anything.

Entertainers like BOR just absolutely suck.

In Paterno’s case, financial greed (the institution) plus reputation greed.

In the Church’s case, more complexity. This is a 2,000 year old institution that will continue to persist no matter if there’s coverup or disclosure. Were the Bishops greedy for preservation of personal reputation? Not as likely. Were they cowards: yes.

At least, with all his faults, he got the Paterno and the Catholic debauchery right. What they both were afraid of is smearing their college/church in the media. (with the truth)

Trashing Joe Paterno on this is a squalid cheap shot. Unlike certain bishops, he didn't knowingly protect any felons.

I have a theory - just that, a theory, with nothing other than my knowledge of my husband’s parents.

My husband’s father was a very talented golfer - on the tour with the big ones early in the game. He had to leave the tour to support his young family, and eventually (after WW2) managed to find work at country clubs as a pro/teacher.

He worked his way up to a very fine WASP upscale club in the Pittsburgh area as an assistant pro, and was respected and loved by all. When the senior pro retired, he was put up by a large majority of the club members for the senior job.

He was blackballed, however, because of the country his parents came from. You see, his mother and father came to the US early in the century from Italy.

Many of us today just do not understand the prejudices of those times, particularly in certain circles of wealth and privilege.

So, if Joe, like my father-in-law, knew the subtle prejudices that existed back then, he was hesitant to take action against Sandusky. Maybe not, but I think it is a possibility.

And, just so you all know, my own father tried to have my husband fired from his job for having the “nerve” to date me, and ask me to marry him. Yes, i am one of those WASPS, from a “fine old family of bluebloods” (/sarc)

And, as late as the 60s, there was still one WASP club in Rhode Island that wouldn’t admit anyone with Irish heritage.

Just saying.

Vatican Blamed Homosexuality on the abuse Crisis as it was an attraction to Boys. Homosexuals worldwide went Crazy.. USA Bishops in John Jay Report Ignored Homosexuality as cause. The average age of death of a Male Homosexual in USA is 43 yrs old. It is one big lie... The Ironic part is Catholic Church has the Largest Number of AIDS Hospice beds in USA. they can’t catch any break.

Joe Paterno had about as much control over how this was handled as a milk man does about bread delivery. The Campus Police {state LEA} and the state agency dealing in children protectives services knew early on about the allegations long before the shower rape and they cleared Sandusky. Later on even a wrestling coach saw inappropiate behavior and reported it. The perp had run of the campus. It was not Joe Paterno's job to investigate and keep the man off campus it was campus security and the state CPS. They cleared Sandusky even after he admitted too a shower with a kid.

What O'Really does not tell you is this. Joe Paterno due to privacy laws involving children would not have been privy as too outcome or and specifics proven or not in those investigations of Sandusky. Some real high ups at PennState knew about this. So why isn't OReally going after the higher ups? Because going after Joe Paterno is good for ratings?

When all this first began Joe Paterno was past most persons retirement age or about 67. Joe only knew that the authorities knew about the allegations. Laying THEIR Failures on him is not right. The media was handed a dieing 85 year old coach as the scapegoat for all others who did not do their job even though they had necessary police powers and could obtain information he did not have nor would he have ever been allowed to have.

O’Reilly cannot face the truth:

Either you are on the side of the innocent children, or you are on the side of the homosexual pedophiles.

There’s no in-between.

Paterno blew it and some of you just don’t want to face reality. O’Reilly said he like Joe and was disappointed in the way he handled the situation a month ago. Now you are starting to look stupid trying to defend the man. I liked Joe myself but he dug his own grave (no pun intended). What if it was your son...hey Joe I approve.you did the right thing by hiding the truth to protect a friend and Penn State, way to go. right? puts a different perspective on it doesn’t it.

I’m not defended Joe. Nitwits like BOR and those that are defending him are cowards to wait until the guy is on his death bed or dead. Mr Inside Edition probably knew what had happened years ago when Jerry resigned from the team. They are all guilty of the cover up, BOR is just the coward for saying something about it. Guess it wasn’t fashionable then. Got to appreciate those that drink from the cup of this moronic entertainer. Drink up fish hawk, drink up.

I have a hard time taking Bill O’Reilly seriously considering he has an obsession with Lady Gaga, strippers, porn stars, and other bimbos and never wastes an opportunity to feature them (with video) on his show and call it “news.” I can see why his wife has supposedly left him. You would think he would steer clear of this type of garbage and not promote these characters since his sexual harassment settlement a few years ago. It makes him look guilty of the charges. He must spend HOURS in his office deciding which bimbo to feature each night.

Isn’t this the guy that got Sued for Sexual Harrassment by his own Employees and Staff, Cheated on his WIFE AND KIDS, And hired a private investigator to threaten and intimidate his Wife during the Divorce?? What a piece of work this lying scumbag has turned out to be. All of these are considered Attributes if you work in the MEDIA.

When a grown man is butt slamming a 10 year old boy, he is an abomination toward God, a homosexual pedophile, and should be hung, naked, by his genitalia.

When he falls to the ground, the hyenas should be allowed to rip the flesh from his body as he begs for mercy.

One of his victims will be armed and permitted to shoot him to put him out of pain {if he chooses or just let him be eaten alive}.

I know, I may be showing too much Christian mercy, but it's Sunday and the celebration of the Mass has over taken me.

No one can truly know Paterno’s motivations except Joe Paterno and God.

I tend to lean away from the “financial” aspect. I truly do not believe he was motivated by money.
