I was criticized for being grandiose. Lincoln was grandiose, the Wright brothers were, Kennedy saying we’d get to the moon in 8 years was grandiose. America is grandiose!

I agree with that. I think he's shrewd politician side wins, in the political arena. At the same time, I think his personal beliefs are generally decent.
His political side and personal side are in tension and conflict, all the time. I don't think he cares about reconciling the two; and I don;t think he has any obligation to do so. He's a party man, first -- see endorsement of Specter, another social liberal.
At the end, it doesn't matter. He's not that influential. Just a point of interest to fuel entertaining speculation.

They’re already in fear mode and that is why they put out Daniels last night.
If RINO Romney the north east elitist liberal loses my state then you can bet Daniels will be put out there.
They see their power eroding, the talking heads on some talk shows and TV like Rove fear that their power and money will be lost.
I have no doubt that the GOP is up to their games right now.

It does matter when 2/3rds of his voters say Newt is their second choice.
