RE-ELECT OBAMA: VOTE NEWT!

January 25, 2012
To talk with Gingrich supporters is to enter a world where words have no meaning. They denounce Mitt Romney as a candidate being pushed on them by "the Establishment" -- with "the Establishment" defined as anyone who supports Romney or doesn't support Newt.

Gingrich may have spent his entire life in Washington and be so much of an insider that, as Jon Stewart says, "when Washington gets its prostate checked, it tickles [Newt]," but he is deemed the rebellious outsider challenging "the Establishment" -- because, again, "the Establishment" is anyone who opposes Newt.

This is the sort of circular reasoning one normally associates with Democrats, people whom small-town pharmacists refer to as "drug seekers" and Ron Paul supporters.

Newtons claim Romney is a "moderate," and Gingrich the true conservative -- a feat that can be accomplished only by refusing to believe anything Romney says ... and also refusing to believe anything Gingrich says.

-- Romney's one great "flip-flop" is on abortion. (I thought the reason we argued with people about abortion was to try to get them to "flip-flop" on this issue. Sometimes it works!)

Nearly two decades ago, when Romney was trying to defeat champion desecrator of life Sen. Teddy Kennedy, he sought to remove abortion as a campaign issue by declaring that he, too, supported Roe v. Wade.

(Nonetheless, Kennedy ran a campaign commercial against him featuring a Mormon woman complaining that Romney, as a Mormon elder, had pressured her not to have an abortion, but to give the child up for adoption. Are you getting the idea that Massachusetts is different from the rest of America, readers?)

Romney changed his mind on abortion -- not when it was politically advantageous, but when it mattered. As governor of liberal, pro-choice Massachusetts, he vetoed an embryonic stem cell bill and "worked closely" with Massachusetts Citizens for Life. The president of MCL recently issued a statement saying that, "since being elected governor, Mitt Romney has had a consistent commitment to the culture of life." Read More »

Where did I say you were bashing Newt? Show me. The first indication of a mittbot is - always in defensive mode and no one accused them of anything.

mittbot lingo .... I am not bashing Newt and just can’t get on the bandwagon.

And they NEVER stay focused on the post - reply to something that wasn't even addressed.

Do you have two accounts?

Newt appears to be doing very well in the polls with conservative supporters.

He’ll be fine and he’ll ramp up for the last debate vs. Mittens.

Ann seems to have gone nuts over Mitt. She thinks anyone not in love with Romney is a liberal traitor. And her “logic” is nor up to her norm.

So now “conservatives” are quoting Jon Stewart?

BTW, how often does Jon Stewart ridicule Viacom or Sumner Redstone? I guess he’s about as free of conflicts of interest as Ann Coulter.

Newt may be imperfect, he may have sat with Pelosi, endorsed Scozzafava

It's more like he sat with and endorsed imperfect people. So has Mitt and so has Santorum.

It has nothing to do with being an insider or outsider - the establishment doesn't want anyone rocking their boat. Palin was not an insider but they got seasick just knowing what she is capable of. Same with Newt.

Nearly two decades ago, when Romney was trying to defeat champion desecrator of life Sen. Teddy Kennedy, he sought to remove abortion as a campaign issue by declaring that he, too, supported Roe v. Wade.

So, in other words, he has no core values and will pander to whichever group he thinks will bring in the most votes? Gotcha!

How can you trust anything he says? When it suits him, he'll flip back to the pro-abortion side.

I am really trying to understand this: if Mitt Romney is so obviously a "conservative", as Ann claims to believe, why can't he command the loyalty and support of .... conservatives?

We have all heard him speak innumerable times now in countless debates and public appearances, and have had ample time to assess his point of view on a wide range of issues. We must all be stupid. Yeah, that's it.

Because a Harvard-educated Washington lawyer is bound to be a far better judge of such things than we could ever be. /s

At one time, I used to respect Ann Coulter's political insights. I also admired her sense of humour. But, no more. With the words by Ann Coulter above, she and she alone has effectively destroyed her own career. Its very sad to see this.

She must really think that Romney will win, and that she will get some access to him after the nomination.

It's damn pathetic how far Ann has fallen. A few folks keep defending her, but it seems like she's doing this every day now and it's got to be hard to keep defending her.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. Our tea party rebellion has been roaring for about three years now. No arms are involved, other than those attached to our hands clicking away at our keyboards or holding signs, flags, etc. Our rebellion is against the entrenched RINO/Marxist establishment ruling class and its a rebellion at the ballot box.

They can pry my keyboard from my cold dead fingers!!

Rebellion is ON!!

Go, Newt!!

... Newt I just can’t get on the bandwagon right now, I have previously said this (Newt) is the worst lot of Republicans I can remember and I am supporting none of them in the primary as of now.

I almost never reply to newbies from past experiences however, I'll make an exception this time.

Two questions:

1.) What is the basis for your belief that Newt is the worst of the lot of Republicans ?

2.) What is the basis for your decision not to support any of the current GOP candidates ?

So, she’s saying it was okay for Romney to say whatever he had to say in order to beat Kennedy. In other words, Romney lied yet we’re supposed to believe him today.

I hope those who bought her books will stop it. I don’t follow her anymore and I’ve noticed Fox doesn’t say “Fair and Balanced” much anymore. They’re admitting they’ve moved to the left.

Ms. Coulter....Jim Robinson’s points are well made. Also, get this through your head. WE THE PEOPLE DON’T WANT ROMNEY AS THE GOP CANDIDATE OR AS POTUS. All of your anti-Newt rants are NOT helping Romney...they are destroying your credibility amoung conservatives.

IF you want to sign the praises of Romney...go for it. However, it is time to lay off the negatives on others running against him.

Also, you owe the good people of South Carolina an apology (comparing them to a mob). Insulting candidates is bad enough...but insulting the voters is unforgiveable. You had better wise up quick or resign yourself to an early retirement as a commentator or switch sides. Conservatives are NOT listening to you anymore. There is NOTHING noble in this self destructive behavior you are exhibiting.

Take a deep breath, count to one million, and then stick to attacking Obama. Stay out of the primary process....you are doing no good.

Let’s see... George HW Bush—RINO, Moderate—lost, Bob Dole-dull, vanilla moderate—lost, John McCain( Romney endorser) big chicken, scared to use BO’s full name, RINO—Lost, Romney— moderate, RINO, will lose. Ann wants BO to win, that’s why she supports yet another RINO, milquetoast, moderate to run against the corrupt dem machine.
