If I were a judge, even a dem judge, I wouldn't like for someone to walk over me like I wasn't there. It would make me feel like they were saying my whole life's career wasn't important and that judges were basically irrelevant. That would not be a good feeling. Even a dem judge doesn't want to feel worthlessly ignore. If BO had gone and sucked up to the judge, flattering the judge by just being there, with just flimsy evidence in his favor he may well have gotten away without a blemish, but he has snubbed the judge. Not a wise move.
