The walk back has begun. . . yes. Until TODAY I could not listen to Rush, Mark or Hannity at all. Rush has been my icon since 1988, but his/their support (non support wink wink) of Newt has been so uninformed. . . . and so obvious that anyone who can read between the lines knows it. It comes as no surprise to me that the Newt candidacy is a con. What are these guys thinking?

I don’t follow your post, as I’ve not criticized Rush for criticizing Noot, but I also am blindly “following” Rush anywhere. See, I actually think for myself, and do not need Rush to endorse, or not endorse a candidate for me to decide whether he is good or bad. I listen to Rush, and enjoy Rush; but I’m not crying because he didn’t step in and endorse anyone, I’m not angry at him for criticizing anyone, and whether or not he likes who I like, or he talks about meanly about my candidate or has wet dreams about my candidate has zero impact on my ability to determine who to vote for on my own.
If Rush came on and advocated tax hikes; I’d take issue with him. If Rush sat on a couch with Nancy Pelosi, or touted Global Warming with John Kerry; if Rush sat on a stage with Hilary and discussed the need for an individual mandate, I’d take him to task for that. If Rush ran for political office and advocated a state government ran health care program; if he were elected official who said one thing while practicing another, I’d call him out for that.
He’s not an elected official and he’s not running for office, he’s an entertainer. The really pathetically sad thing is so few are able to tell the difference.

I personally don’t give a crap about his open marriage. I do not believe Newt used those words. I think he told maryann he was seeing calista and wanted a divorce. I think maryann said NO. Newt said. Fine, do you want. So she tells everyone he wanted an open marriage. And, if he did want to go along with seeing calista and still staying married to Maryann, well, i think that at least 1 out 4 marriages are that way now. Couldn’t care less.

I’ve been a big Rush supporter for years but today he is reminding me of Karl Rove when he attacked Christine O’Donnell..... and I’m liking it not one bit. If Rush had a preferred candidate, he should have went public long before the field got narrowed to this point. Unless, of course, Mitt Romney IS his favored candidate as it appears to be now.
I don’t understand why so many people rely so desperately on Rush to endorse anyone? Especially if they’ve already made their mind up.
Endorsements actually mean little to me, and I’m always insulted when people rely solely on endorsements to make their decision. What an intellectually lazy way to make a decision. I like x. X likes Y. Therefore I must like Y. Jeez.

Getting the truth out. Much of this is also documented with audio and video clips. As Rush said until this all hit today, he had no idea any of this was taking place. I also think he's preparing us for what's coming from the liberals not only about Newt, but about anyone else who's going up against Obama.
Yeah, I know Perry performed badly in the first couple debates, that’s when I lost interest him. Then when his staff reported that Perry had back surgery just a few days before the first debate and was taking prescription pain killers in order to campaign, I started to think about him again.
You have to admit that Perry was a different person in the last two debates, when he was off the pain killers. Frankly, I’ve experienced problems in talking when I’ve been on medication. It’s like you just can’t put your thoughts together.

Also, as I have said at least three times already; I’m more troubled that he knowingly overstated his rebuttal to ABC. Just say it wasn’t true and move on; he didn’t have to lie; he still would have gotten a standing ovation. The fact he felt the need to is what is troubling.
I am still trying to figure out the ice bucket....but Jan Brewer i understand! On that Tarmac photo...she was not backing down. And THAT is what the four candidates still standing need to learn. Take it directly to Obama. Don’t qualify his failures w/ platitudes like “he is in over his head.”

Oh, by the way, I met Gingrich once. He came to a nearby town to push his Contract with America and campaign for Slade Gorton.
I went because I was excited to be able to meet Gingich in person and hear him speak. It was a small venue and I was able to actually shake hands and speak briefly with the Speaker. I came away with the feeling that he wasn’t sincere. I was disappointed. ....but I was and still am willing to support him if he ends up being our candidate.

It’s not so much that Rush is “in the tank” for anyone ...Newt (and the rest of us “outsiders”) are seen as a less profitable alternative for all the elites in both parties. Rush is being pressured by Romney (he just said so) and is now doing “damage control” ...he’s caught in the middle of forces far more powerful than his syndicated show.
It has gotten so bad that people are circulating a story that Calista had a lady arrested for breast feeding in our neighborhood. The anti-Newt people are in a frenzy.
Nope. People are trolls for purposefully coming on a thread to start fights. Coming on to consistently whine about whatever pet issue isn’t getting discussed just to start a fight because you didn’t get enough attention from your parents and this is the only way you can get someone to pay you any mind is sad and trollish behavior.
There’s been plenty of criticism of Rush on this thread. Plenty of people not called trolls. Coming on this thread to tell me you’ve had a hissy fit and aren’t listening to Rush any longer serves 0 purpose, provides 0 rational discussion and is the behavior of a troll.
Of course, I don’t go places to complain about the topic. I don’t seek out Ron Paul threads to call him names or insult people. People who do that are just as equally trolls as the people who behave in like manner on this thread.

Yes and no. What’s the point in allowing yourself to become distressed at something Newt said? You could probably go back through the history of any politician and find hundreds of silly and contradictory statements. What’s the point? I’m not interested in vetting Newt anymore. I already know I prefer him over the other candidates, and nothing anyone can possibly post is going to change my mind. I don’t see that as being a “blind follower” - I see that as having made up my mind and resent a vast and powerful group of people using media propaganda in an attempt to change it.
I'm in a total funk today. Everywhere I turn (Fox News, Drudge, Rush Limbaugh) it is full-on attack Newt.
I watched Newt's VERY inspiring speech about the future of space yesterday ...twice. I did so because it was uplifting and encouraging and filled with evidences of American greatness, proven many times in history.
Today, all we hear is Newt wants people on the moon, making it sound like he's nuts (which we can do with anybody when comments are taken totally out of context).
For years Rush preaches conservatism over Republicanism, yet when it comes down to crunch time will not call Romney for what he is ...a Massachusetts moderate with extreme leftward leanings.
So go Rush, do your "Operation Bombastic" and help prolong the process until Mitt is the eventual winner (and who said you couldn't buy an election???).
Going back to my funk...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Is Rush living paycheck to paycheck? Is he worried that if he loses his job, he may end up sleeping on the street?
Is Rush worried that he lacks marketable skills? He's just lucky to have this current job and if he loses it, he might never work again?
Is Rush trying to establish a name for himself as a good soldier, and is he worried that some folks might start to call him a rabble-rouser?
Exactly why is Rush susceptible to pressure from ANYONE??
