Vanity: Thursday, Bloody Thursday, The Day the Drudge Report Sold Out

Thursday, Bloody Thursday the Day the Drudge Report Sold Out

It may be the Drudge Report sold out a long time ago and I was just too blind to see it. No one has ever accused me of being the smartest guy in the room.

But if someone of the unwashed masses like myself has come to see that he has sold out, it must be quite clear to everyone.

On this day he is maliciously and brutally battering a Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States by the name of Newton Leroy Gingrich.

I have read the Drudge Report daily ever since he broke the Lewinsky story.

I have NEVER seen him attack anyone with the volume of coverage and with the venom that he has attacked this Gingrich fellow.

He has given President Obama a lot of coverage. That coverage was quite negative, but often it was rather humorous and he seemed to be tweaking him more than attacking him.

Make no mistake, he is not tweaking this Gingrich fellow, it is a constant and brutal battering.

They say the most brutal crimes are often acts of domestic violence.

This fellow Matt Drudge has always been a rather mysterious fellow even before dropping off the airwaves of the Fox News Channel and syndicated radio.

I have seen in those rare times that he has been interviewed that he has associated himself both with conservatism and quite curiously populism. I say quite curiously because today he has revealed himself to be anything but a populist.

He has fully revealed that on this quite bloody Thursday, that he is at heart an elitist who is more than willing to do the bidding of the so-called conservative elite who controls the Republican Party.

It is a quite sad day really. The MSM can be characterized as a media elite because it treats its audience as sheeple. That is what makes an elite, an elite, the elevation of those within the elite above the group at large.

The Drudge Report was not only a founding but leading member of what has been termed the New Media and a member to which most of us looked to as a most welcome alternative to the elitism of old media such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, broadcast news and cable news.

But on this Thursday, this quite bloody Thursday the Drudge Report has sold out by treating its readers as sheeple at what most surely must have been at the behest of the likes of Anne Coulter and all the other conservative media celebrities who so ruthlessly and desperately are attempting to prop up their hand selected sock puppet Mitt Romney by attempting to tear down as well as tear apart Newt Gingrich.

On this Thursday, this quite bloody Thursday, I can only say, et tu Matt.

I guarantee you ... that the Washingtion and NASA elites "made a brick" over this one ...That explains WHY Drudge and Rush are attacking Newt ...

Would you explain what you mean? Thanks.

Yes, it’s been absolutely nauseating. Drudge and FR have been my 2 news sources. Fortunately FR is a Republic, Drudge is apparently a dictatorship.

Drudge has slanted his web page before. When Schwarzenegger was embroiled in his recent paternity scandal NOT ONE story ever made the Drudge Report.

Good luck finding anything about Fast and Furious on Drudge.

I’m offended by Drudge because he is spinning and lying about what Newt said and did in the same way as liberals have always done to conservatives.

Newt is a big government open borders guy. If Drudge just told the truth that would not be offensive.

Drudge got rich and powerful and joined the elites, sad to say.

Everyone get a grip. Newt is no angel and has his issues, including a high negative polling. Opposing Newt is no crime against Conservatism.

With that said if Newt is the GOP candidate I will vote for him, but people should not be judged on ideological purity for opposing a flawed candidate.

Obama is an elitist.

He whispered sweet nothings in the voters ears.

He had NO idea just like everyone else what was in the healthcare bill until it was passed and he probably still doesn’t know what is in the bill because he doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is that his name is on it and he gets credit for passing it.

Obamacare was written by the healthcare industry to confiscate a big chunk of the GDP.

I think I read that Romney would NOT move to repeal Obamacare.

Obama or Romney, it matters little, special interests and corporations will still be writing the legislation.

As Newt said the other night the BIG BANKS love Dodd-Frank although there is a charade going on that they do not and they do not like Obama. The big banks love Obama and they could learn to love Mitt just as much.

I just think he has a big bias bone for Mitt.

So he is no different than the liberal media. Yet, he started out because of their bias. Starve the beast - and that means Rush, also.

Opposing Newt is no crime against Conservatism.

Newt has done a great service, he is forcing the question does the heart and soul of conservatism rest with the rank in file or is conservatism without a heart and soul and the property of the elitists and their hand picked sock puppet Mitt Romney.

Shame, Drudge was one of the sites that led me here all those years ago.

Yep....when I first got on the Internet via my WebTV in August 1997, the only two things I knew was a place called Yahoo and The Drudge Report.

One of Drudge's links was to a place dealing with the Whitewater scandle.

Turned out that was a link to a forum at a place called FreeRepublic.com.

I lurked and finally registered after freeper Boston's Washington Times ad had run following the Senate's failure to convict Clinton.

My guess is that Drudge is a member of and/or being pressured by the Gay Mafia.

"The elite [class] have evidently have drawn a line in the sands of Florida"?

Drudge apparently is now added to the list along with this cast :

Yesterday Rush was criticising Romney for not having a creative new "big idea" ...

which is certainly true ...

Then ... Newt hit it out of the park with that "America's Space Renaisance" speech ...

Sounds like a "big idea" to me ...

It's frankly suspicious that Rush is trying to tear Newt a new-one today ...

Keep in mind that Rush attended a mysterious meeting Monday, at least I don't recall his saying where he was ...

It's probably nothing ... but it's possible that he and the other E-RINOs are circling the wagons ... against Newt ...

Why would Rush Limbaugh do this ?

Did Conservatives need a guy like Rush Limbaugh when Ronald Reagan was around ?

Nope.

What happends if Conservatives start listening to Newt's vision ... and stop buying SNAPPLE iced-tea as offered by Rush Limbaugh ?

What if a President Newt Gingrich (ever) articulates Conservatism better than Rush ?

You know, ever since Rush signed that multi-hundred-million deal last year ... he spends ALOT more time selling stuff ... it's quite noticeable ...

Maybe I'm wrong ...

eddie, you bring back memories, I haven’t thought of my Web TV in years. I remember that I sold it ebay and got more than half of what I paid for it which I thought was incredible.

I guess Web TV was my first computer although it wasn’t really computer.

As I remember you could interact with a remote or keyboard, but I never bought the keyboard so it was too much work to do much posting.

We aren't in heaven, so we aren't looking for angels. So that's a dumb*** comment.

What issues does Newt have?

and what high negative polling. Tell us!

Opposing Newt is no crime against Conservatism.

Not only against conservatism but AMERICA! His opposition is mitt, a POS liberal romneycare/obamacare embracer - not an ounce of patriotism in him - he's a KNOWN liar, a KNOWN backstabber.

HE wouldn't have to lie and backstab IF he had anything going for himself. So that makes him con man #2.

And if you think differently - spew it out.

Drudge supposedly has few friends.

Rush and Anne Coulter are supposedly among his few friends that he talks to regularly.

As Gomer said, Suprise! Surprise!

Since when does the posting of news equate to "attacking"?. What exactly did Drudge say that would lead you to such an apoplexy?

#53 Someone said to take Drudge off Free Republic

...what about all the rest? See Post #53. I can honestly say use Drudge seldom because of the too simple format and can be sometimes too lose on facts for me; although I have the Free App.

I come to FR first.

I also respect the work Malkin had done on illegal immigration. Getting to be like the old "book burning" days and guess you could add "witch hunt" as well.

I will admit the articles on Newt's present day wife have been unkind on her appearance aka "the hair" and other gossipy issues.

Newt is a big boy and can fend for himself. Just not good to burn bridges unless you have a new way to get across.
