And I truly like, admire and respect the guy.

As this thing goes, there are less and less debates. One debate in the month of February. That means it comes down to the campaign trail and campaign ads. If Santorum can hang in there, he stands a chance.

Ari Fleicher calls Mitt an alpha dog.

What would a pussy like Ari know about alpha dog.

Bad: Florida is a very different state demographically, and plays well to a moderate candidate.

Yep... filled with retired northeast liberals...

I have to step in and clear Quayle. The potato thing was a setup. The school gave him cards and he went by what they told him. He knew it was wrong but didn’t call the school on it. He was setup and there wasn’t an internet then.

“Romney people should be happy tonight” so says talking head on CNN “but the big winner was Santorum”. Ari believes RS was strong but Romney won tonight. Romney’s reaction seemed to indicate the same.

For those paying attention, Newt appeared weak tonight.

This is not even debatable. Lets be honest.

Paul had a very good night, Santorum had a great night, and unfortunately Romney had a good night...

i hope this was a lesson to people honestly interested in limited government. the msm should have nothing to do with our nominating process especially debates. this debate was a joke. 100% set up for romney. the audience was selected by leftists. the questions were selected by leftists. the debate was steered by a leftist. i strongly suspect romney knew what was coming. he sounded so rehearsed! complete joke!

Amen. What an answer! Not to diminish Newt’s answer in the least, but Santorum drew a line the sand and made it clear that he understands without a doubt that government doesn’t grant us rights, God does. Wow!

A little late for Santorum to finally be learning about inalienable rights.

I am going to disagree with those who believe that Rick blew it with his closing. His saying he is better than the others wasn’t a bad thing, since he really kept that rather low key and simply said I’m better because “ of these things “

I missed the first 30 min but this was not Newt's best debate.

Romney's new coach clearly helped him out. I think Romney closes the deal on FL, particularly with Santorum still running.

VERY disappointing.

The sad truth is, however, that Santorum staying in the race means Romney will certainly win the nomination.

Santorum's people and supporters will use tongihts base as energizing him all the more...I don't think he's about to step out of the ring any time soon..and yes it will take votes from Newt...Paul too will remain....neither doing us any good now as Newt needs to pick up supporters going forward.

If Santorum is a "selfish" about this run as some say and doesn't stand down because he wants the limelight....then I will surely blame SAntorum if Romney gets it.

What is this Santorum bashing? Give the guy a break, His two rivals are Newt and Romney, he has to differentiate himself. He did not attack them personally, he brought out his differences. You must me a Paul fan because they cannot say three words without using an expletive word. Just using these words cuts your argument value in half.

My opinion is that Santorum wiped the floor with the rest of the candidates. He made the audience actually laugh at Romney. His essay on God given rights was incredible (Conservative Christians). His fervor on Latin America was impressive. And, his detailing on why his wife would be an good First Lady was quite moving (women voters). And his answer to the Puerto Rico question should influence Hispanic voters.

Ranking:

Santorum: A
Newt: B (CNN stacked the deck against him)
Romney: D (self-destructed on RomneyCare)
Paul: He’s Ron Paul . . . for entertainment value . . .

Predicted results:

Romney loses votes . . . split between Newt and Rick.
