PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (AP) — Rick Santorum is tired, almost broke — and going home.

The former Pennsylvania senator is taking a pause from Florida campaigning just days before the Tuesday primary that even he expects to deal him a third consecutive loss.

Going home to get his taxes? I guess he doesn’t know how to have his wife email a pdf file? I do not believe he is going home to get his taxes. I wasn’t born in a pumpkin patch Rick. What is really going on?

I had the same thought this morning, and then thinking back to the debate last night, he did seem to look distressed somehow. Almost in pain. And don't get me wrong, I thought he did better than usual last night. But now I wonder what's going on too.

Maybe a Newt/Rick ticket is in order. Both are the smartest the party has and could be a Obama beater.

______________

Yeah, a Newt/Rick ticket alright- a RICK PERRY ticket.
Rick Perry is twice the Conservative that Santorum is.

I’m predicting, without reading the posts, a consensus that Rick Santorum should ‘do the right thing’ and get out.

I don’t agree with that.

Newt gained popularity here largely on the theory that he was a fighter and could beat Obama.

He needs to show that by upping his game, not getting distracted by personal attacks, and beating Romney, Santorum and Ron Paul.

This whining for everybody to drop out is unbecoming and shows little faith in our candidate.

That being said, I expect Santorum to drop out unless he gets a huge surge in Florida, but before he goes, I want to thank him for lending some dignity to the debate last night.

Rick didn’t look tired last night when he stuck it to Romney.

Amen to that suggestion, patriot. I could get a lot more excited about Newt if it was a Newt/Perry ticket, though I’m not sure Perry would take it.

I also hope he wins. He has had several good debates. On the last one he did much better than Newt. Newt's obvious pandering was embarrassing. He is the most conservative of the four.

Rick should endorse Newt before Tuesday. It's the right thing to do.

Absolutely not.

Rick had a great debate performance last night. And I am not the only one saying that.

Newt is about to crash in flames -- again. Mark my words, you will see.

Newt is the Rasputin of American politics. To some, he is mesmerizing and "charismatic." He definitely has some talents, particularly in finding a way to manipulate crowds. But he has no personal ethics, and no philosophical core. What Newt is about is seeking power and glory for himself, by whatever means necessary.

Like Raputin, Newt keeps rising from the dead, again and again. But one day he is finally going to sink for good.

Who will be left to be the "anti-Romney" then? Santorum, god willing.

my CPA firm does all our taxes...businesses and personal

about 8000 a year for all of it..ouch

and he is very connected to the banks...that sort of stuff...which I bet is precisely how Santorum does it

I doubt Rick goes to the Block office and just sits with some schlub and hands over his docs

I could do taxes from Tierra Del Fuego these days with the internet

From this link from PPP

"2) If Rick Santorum drops out between now and next Tuesday, Gingrich will be the beneficiary. His voters prefer Gingrich over Romney 50-23, and in a field where he's no longer a candidate Newt's lead expands to 43-36."

Rick, get back out there after your break! A lot of us are sending $ today. You did well last night. Everyone’s talking about you. Some just noticed you! Keep above the fray.

Endorse Newt, my eye.

Do you believe Santorum still has a chance at the nomination, or are you saying you'd rather he endorse no one. (I'm certain you aren't saying you want him to endorse Romney or Paul. . .right?)

If newt got out now, most of his votes would go to Santorum, and he’d beat Romney.

Let the men do their thing. Each one deserves the run at this time.

That “grandmother” crap was really p’ing me off last night!! Here’s what it takes to e a grandmother: First, spread your legs at 15 for some barrio lothario. Then, some 16 years later, your daughter does the same. It’s not something necessarily worthy.

Any other crime, theft, kiting checks, assault, etc, s never excused because before getting caught the defendant has become a grandparent. Ridiculous. Don’t deport me. I had a kid who had a kid. Great. Rabbits must be the most holy creatures alive.

WHERE is the DRUDGE STORY?!!!!

Santorum goes HOME and not a peep from Drudge.

not a peep from FNC,

not a peep from Public Radio

Not a peep from CNBC (allegedly the money business channell)

Not a peep from CNN etc. etc.

This would shift FL.
