The interstate highway system was built on fraud in the first place, congress did not have the constitutional authority to construct a highway system, they were shot down numerous times by the courts, they then decided on a national rouse that the highway system was necessary for National Security, the Courts and Congress went along with the rouse and that is how we got our interstate highway system. BASED ON FRAUD AND DECEIT, not that it isn’t a good thing in the long run, just the way it was done, thereby giving CONTROL TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Had the States done it on their own, we would be much better off.

None of that negates the fact that it was actually good for business even if it wasn’t the intent.

National security also became the excuse for the national government to get its nose into education-remember sputnik scared everyone into expanding government in the direction of education.
