“They have a point...hes always been very clear that he wants to (fundamentally, historically, categorically, and radically) overturn the existing order.”
It is not the fundamental change either faction thinks, IMO. I believe he intends a return to a more compassionate conservatism...better than where Mittens will take us, but not where the Tea Party wants to go.
BOR also thinks John McCain is a conservative..
and Chris Christie.
I’m not a fan of Ted Baxter. But he did take on Ann C. the other night and now has accidentally or by chance given Newt a boost. Whatever works!
Didn’t O’Reilly have Ann Coulter on the other day and let her rant on Newt non stop? Billy is another two faced phoney. What is happening here is Billy and el Rushbo know that they will lose 30% of their audience if they continue talking the establishment talking points. They figure Newt’s finished after a lousy debate last night so it’s OK to say nice things about Newt now. Screw both of them.
Newt is a conservative and did great things in the early and mid 90’s for conservatism but at some point became Don Quioxte absent Sancho to ground him. The lunar colony being the latest windmill but by no means the only one.
You should watch the video. He addresses that.
WOW when FR uses BOR to advance the cause of Gingrich’s conservative bona fides then the theme song should be “The World Turned Upside Down.”
It all boils down to this:
Romney is a northeastern liberal.
Gingrich is from The South.................
Newt Gingrich, .... did more for the conservative movement and to stop the liberal Democrats in the House of Representatives than virtually everybody today who is criticizing him! ——Mark levin-—
Watched, lol, for once Billy is making sense. Stopped clock? Blind squirrel?
There sure is an awful lot of things that beg that question. Tons, and I mean tons, of "We are Mormon" ads running here. And I know this is close to tin foil area, but when was the last time HBO pulled the plug an a series (Big Love) while it still was viable. They sure wrung that Sopranos rag until it was dry. Combine these coincidences with the fact the DNC is only running a game plan that assumes a Romney nomination.
Why, indeed.
I am happy to see somebody take on Coulter. She is a fraud.
In a fair debate against Obama, Newt would wins hands down, but judging from recent debates, there won't be any fair debates of substance.
You just nailed it: Newt might not be as conservative as some of us want but he’s the MOST conservative of those LEFT standing.
^—— I fixed it for you.
Nope. The establishment thinks either one of them can beat Obama and they are pushing for Romney and against Newt because they know Romney is weak and can be easily manipulated to suit their agenda and Newt cannot.
The Tea Party is a full spectrum movement, not just some radical right extremists as the media loves to paint us. There are independents and democrats and more involved in the tea party, not just republicans. The uniting factor is a dislike for big party politics and a reverence for constitutional limits on government. Newt will pick up far more of those votes than Romney will.
Not a great endorsement, since to O’Reilly, Romney is a conservative too.
Mark Levin is my new hero:
Thank you!
Look at the facts, Romney is a loser politician, 20 years of running and he has a single victory.
Romney destroyed that states GOP and lost the Governorship to Democrats after 14 years of GOP control, How?, because Romney ended his effort at political leadership with only 34% approval.
By the way, Romney won that single election with less than 50% of the vote.
In a fair debate against Obama, Newt would wins hands down, but judging from recent debates, there won't be any fair debates of substance.]
First there is entirely too much reliance on the polls. Like Reagan used to say, if the people aren't with you, then you just haven't explained it well enough. All you need to do is explain it better.
Second, when the Dems get finished with Bain capital ads, his negatives will be a lot worse than Newt's. Even among conservatives on this board, there were plenty of people who didn't like that particular part of Romney's private sector experience.
This is especially true for some of the swing states, where manufacturing has been decimated.
Bill, read the RNC memo! You are to criticize Newt—not say things that might be be seen as positive! You want to be destroyed? You want to be fired? You want to be behind bars? No—even you see the fix is in and Mitt is the token to be set up as a straw man to be defeated by Obama—the Great. If you do not believe this—ask Sarah Palin! or anyone who supports He-who-cannot-be-named.
