Illegal immigration supporter derails Marco Rubio's big speech

Senator Marco Rubio was interrupted by young protesters while addressing the Hispanic Leadership Network's Inspiring Action conference in Miami Friday morning. He was just beginning a heartfelt speech on immigration, as an opening act for both former Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Gov. Mitt Romney. Both candidates spoke consecutively to the same crowd shortly after.

The hecklers asked Rubio why he doesn't support illegal immigrants, and were consequently asked some tough questions themselves, by reporters, as they were escorted out.

See the confrontation and one of the protesters comments in the following video clips:

Marco Rubio is a class act. He may be called to be VP, and save the Republican Party's tail this year. I think he is up for the job, although Florida would be stuck in the Senator department. I predict Allen West steps up if they take Rubio.

I prefer Allen over Rubio any day

The disruptor was interesting. Dressed nicely, spoke English and didn’t appear to be angry, very different from the usually thugs. I like Rubio, to bad he appears to be supporting Romney.

I’d like either one of them, although I like Rubio much less now for his support of Romney.

Rubio’s support for Romney shows that he does not have that good judgment. He lost it for me. Any person can learn conservative talking points and reasonable make people believe they believe in them. His judgment for America's solution by picking Romney leaves me cold.

Absolutely! Rubio is just a symbol, representing another “desperately needed” demographic.

I wonder if that protestor would mind if I moved into his house and didn’t pay anything for the food or shelter.

"Absolutely! Rubio is just a symbol, representing another “desperately needed” demographic."

Rubio is easy to like. Young, and in time could end up 100% RINO, he's certainly showing some inclinations in that direction already.

And a big problem with these "desperately needed demos" is they vote race of substance every time. Look at how hussein continues to poll among blacks. He could get caught in bed with a cub scout pack and he would not drop a tick within that demo.

Protester, the clue is in your own sentence...

Yep. How conservative can he be if he supports the establishment GOP's candidate?

just looked it up . . . he was born in ‘71 and his parents didn’t become citizens until ‘75. So I think that is why he smiles and says NO to all the various pundits who ask him the VP question IF he’d accept. Although I’d love for them to do it and then just wait for the DNC to cry foul when Newt/Marco SURGED in the polls against the bamster.

Same thing with Jindal but I don’t have the dates. I was thinking McDonnell from VA would be a good choice too until he endorsed Romney but I’m for West as VP choice for Newt at the moment.

I ain’t interested in all the blabber about Newt, Mitt, Rick or Ron!!! I just want Obama and the entire Democrat Party defeated. Whoever is standing and gets the GOP nomination, is who i vote for!!! Why??? Obama must be defeated this year for about a thousand obvious reasons, all of them valid. As for Rubio and West, they are both Aces in my book!!! Matter of fact: Both would make an excellent POTUS, IMHO!!! In my dream world, even though they are relatively new to the Washington game, a Rubio/West or West/Rubio POTUS/VP ticket would just be fine!!! Newt & Romney are just used goods with no real, honest fire in the gut to rip the political heart out of traitor Obama and his Democrat ilk!!!

What I am pushing and hoping for, is a massively large Republican turnout, next Tuesday in Florida!!! The higher the turnout, the higher voter participation, the better to defeat Obama and his anti-American Democrat Ilk!!! Hello, America, do you ralize that the son of a current cabinet secretary (Ray LaHood) is being held hostage in Egypt, the very Egypt that Obama gave away to Muslim radicals known as the Muslim Brotherhood, an Obama favorite? Yep, Kill the economy and then kill the country (Our country, the USA), that’s the Hope & Change of America that Obama has brought forth. Wake up, America, your country is slipping out of your hands, day by day!!! Get out and vote for whoever your chosen candidate may be!!! But....for goodness sakes, get out there and vote!!!

He was just beginning a heartfelt speech on immigration,...

This is a big part of the problem. Thinking that only a hispanic can speak about immigration.

If I gave a heartfelt speech about illegal immigrant, or, even legal immigrant, I would be called a racist and vilified endlessly.

They all start out looking heroic like a McCain or a John Glenn but the overwhelming need to feel accepted by everyone turns them into the smarmy backstabbers they are today. Christie, Romney, Rubio, Coulter (not getting any younger), Ingraham (not getting any closer to Rush’s numbers) all of them can’t handle the loneliness of doing what’s right all the time.

Qwackertoo, I don’t believe that the term “natural born citizen” has ever been defined by the Supreme Court, or defined by the Constitution. I could be wrong, though. If you can cite any authority in the form of a US Supreme Court case, I’d really be interested. Thanks!

If you’re born here you’re a citizen. End of story.
