Rev. Wildmon: Palin Is Right, Newt Being 'Crucified'
NewsMax ^ | January 28, 2012 | David A. Patten

One of the nation's most influential Christian and family leaders, the Rev. Donald E. Wildmon, says Sarah Palin is right, Newt Gingrich is being "crucified" by the Republican establishment and forces allied with Mitt Romney.

Wildmon, founder of the American Family Association, has strongly endorsed Gingrich for president, and this week has been urging fellow believers to vote in Florida's primary for the former House Speaker.

Wildmon has spent decades on the front-lines of the battle to protect American families and says Gingrich is the best choice for Christian conservatives who want a president to stand against a rising tide of secularism and anti-Christian sentiment.

On Thursday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin stated on the Fox_Business_channel: "Look at Newt Gingrich, what's going on with him via the establishment's attacks. They're trying to crucify this man and rewrite history and rewrite what it is that he has stood for all these years.”

In an interview with Newsmax Friday, Wildmon told Newsmax “That’s very tough language. But I think it’s probably pretty accurate.”

Wildmon said Gingrich is up against entrenched political forces who are “absolutely” trying to dictate who wins the GOP nomination.

“The mainstream media and the established Republicans would rather have anybody than Newt,” Wildmon said. “This is what really worries them. [Thursday] they went on a rampage, got five or six well known people, former colleagues of his, criticizing him. They’re going after him. That’s going to be his biggest obstacle to overcome.”

Asked why he didn’t endorse former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, as have_several other Christian leaders, Wildmon replied: “You’re basically going to vote for the man you think can do the best job. I believe that Newt, of all the candidates, can do a better job of getting the country back to where it’s supposed to be.”(continued)

Crucified?

Suck it up!

Gingrich should have known what would be thrown at him, if he ever became a real contender.

If he thinks Bloody Thursday was bad, see what he gets if he wins the nomination.

Muddy/Bloody October will make Bloody Thursday look like Saturday morning cartoons.

Crucified is right. Newt has been called zany, unstable, explosive and lied about by the republican party he did so much for...it is a damn disgrace. Romney is the true liberal..and he has been given a free pass. Romneycare, Pro choice, restricting gun owners rights in Mass, being lauded by algore for his belief IN man made global warming...where is the establishment on that?

I think the GOP establishment is using Newt to express their own personal disdain for who and what Ronald Reagan was to this nation.... Any one remember voodoo economics, this is the same bunch, blue bloods with old money. And their ‘pink’ mafia offspring rebelling.

I have not seen this much energy out of this establishment bunch since Ronald Reagan.

If Newt gets the nomination, and, if Obama runs again (I am not certain), Dear Jughead will not get a pass as in 2008.

This man definitely understands Romney... Wildmon also expressed grave doubts about the strength of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s commitment to social issues that Christians care about.

Wildmon asserted that Romney "will not be reliable. Romney is Obama-lite.”

The conservative family advocate said the stakes in the 2012 election are huge. “If we lose this race,” he said, “if Mr. Obama gets a second term, or if Mr. Romney gets in, it’s the end of Western civilization as we know it.”

The Republican Establishment is for all that.

They are socially liberal statists who disdain the Bill of Rights.

Romney's bad behavior Exposed by Seamus

"Romney Loses Nomination Over Dog Abuse? - Romney was traveling that summer with his wife, five sons, and Seamus to his parent's cottage on Lake Huron. But hours into the ride, Seamus apparently suffered diarrhea, which ran down the back window of the car. .David Kravitz wrote on BlueMassGroup, a liberal blog. "It also strikes me as classic Romney: it solves a problem efficiently, in a business-like manner, and with no regard whatsoever for the suffering that the solution may cause."

"But the details of the event are more than unseemly - they may, in fact, be illegal. Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon. "An officer for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out." The officer, Nadia Branca, declined to give a definitive opinion on whether Romney broke the law but did note that it's against state law to have a dog in an open bed of a pick-up truck, and "if the dog was being carried in a way that endangers it, that would be illegal."

"Dog on Roof? What Was It Like for Romney's Pooch? - Scientists Say Dog Likely Experienced Wind-Whipped, Uncomfortable Trip - "Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family's hulking Irish setter, in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon's roof rack. e'd built a windshield for the carrier, to make the ride more comfortable for the dog,".. Jordan Kaplan, the owner of Petaholics, a dog walking service in New York City,
and a lifelong dog owner and dog lover, said Romney's actions were uncalled for"

"Romney's dog - This is a distinction Mitt Romney probably could do without, but he is surely the first presidential candidate to be attacked for putting a dog with diarrhea in a carrier and tying it to the top of a station wagon. Romney's defense: Seamus liked it. [like the citizens under Romney's RomneyCARE, etc.?] "

"As the oldest son, Tagg Romney commandeered the way-back of the wagon, keeping his eyes fixed out the rear window, where he glimpsed the first sign of trouble. ''Dad!'' he yelled. ''Gross!'' A brown liquid was dripping down the back window, payback from an Irish setter who'd been riding on the roof in the wind for hours. As the rest of the boys joined in the howls of disgust, Romney coolly pulled off the highway and into a service station. There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car, then hopped back onto the highway."

"Story about dog on car roof comes back to bite Romney - 200 comments from readers complaining of animal cruelty"

I have a feeling that Newt is not as sensitive about these things as Sarah was. She’s a bit thin-skinned, compared to Newt’s rhinoceros-hide.

Sarah Palin thin skinned? If you were subjected to the abuse that woman has endured, you’d be curled in a fetal position bawling like a little baby.

Oh yes I remember all the anti Reagan zealots-they despised him. His own party!
And here they are years later, calling Newt the same names; a loon and a disgrace to the GOP etc....unfreakin-believable.

The only good thing to come out of this is the unmasking and TRUE character reveal of all of the so called conservatives. They USED us to pimp their books, speaking engagements, websites ..... (Coulter, Drudge etc) .......shame on them....they disgust me.

Again, Newt spent his whole career rallying against people in his own party, when he seeks their support, there not giving it to him?
