My mom’s birthday is July 20th. I was 5 when it happened and remember everyone sitting around the living room tv watching Armstrong in black and white walk on the moon. Any politician like Romney who belittles proposals for America to go back to the moon is a disgrace to America.

Wow! What a close. I feel like I’ve been watching one of those “Great Moments” that you read about in your history book.

It takes a great deal for me to tear up but Newt's pledge of his very self to our country and it's people was profound! ...and he meant it! What a heartfelt and determined close to a grand speech by a grand man who loves this country! Wow and double wow!

(dabbing my eyes a bit)

Can we add Rick Santorum and his family to that prayer thread...he and his wife have taken their daughter, Bella, to the hospital.

Prayers up for Bella amd her family

Mitt was reading off a teleprompter to tell him what to say while the Bambino is giving a history lesson on how it relates to today.

Pray for Newt

What’s wrong with his daughter? This must be the disabled child he spoke about on Thursday.

It was exceptional...though any of us who’ve been following him have heard a lot of the lines before.

But you wait, people will say he was “comparing himself to Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy and Reagan.” Just watch.

Yes I remember typing class and typing that phrase. We only had a few electric Smith Coronas, and mostly manual Royals.
We were all scared of our typing teacher, and the rule was that you had to start typing immediately the assignment on the board.

So I came in, and all the machines were taken except one, and it was on the front row desk, unplugged. I asked everyone about it, but no one knew anything. So I waited a bit, but then fear overcame me and I went ahead and plugged in the machine.

It blew fuses in that entire wing of the school. Teacher chewed me out very harshly, but at the end of the hr. she apologized, and said it was partly her fault for not being where she belonged.

I was never so scared and embarrassed at school before or since.

Good, now its time to politely ask Rick Santorum to endorse Newt:

That was a great speech. I want him to push on going back to the Moon. The mocking comments Gingrich received from pundits like Krauthammer and politicians like Romney symbolizes everything that is wrong with the Republican Party.

I agree. Newt delivered a terrific speech and solidified the run he is prepared to make in the fall - I'm excited!!!!!!!

NEWT, NEWT, NEWT, NEWT !!!!

So she can obnoxiously “clap” in the right mic!
Hearing sensitive here , audio sucked and THAT Callista clap was really annoying!
Other than that , Newt looked ready to drop when they were escorting him out, either that or there is some extraneous “outside” threat.

we need to ad Bella and the Santorum family to our prayers. Had wondered earlier if that was why he had gone home for the week end. His wife was not at the debate but had already headed north.

Dear Josh,

We do the math and we go to war. It is not a patriotic gesture for “good men to do nothing” by casting a mathmatical vote that effectively in Florida is a clear and present danger to the ONE man who can stop him.

This has absolutely nothing to do with me trying to win or lose your vote, but your conscience sees the math for Florida. You will follow your conscience to the extent that it is informed of what is at stake. God be with you, and you don’t worry about the “way to win them over”. Just do your math and pull the lever if you are in Florida. You can be cranky in some other state over the santorum vote, but do right in Florida what IS RIGHT.

Yes, Santorum is wonderful man who has known family heartache and he is easy to pray for, especially now that we are informed the daughter is staying in the hospital tonight. God be with him and each and all of us.

He does have some Churchill in him.

"Churchillian fortitude: When Gingrich’s campaign was faltering, in single digits, most would have quit. He did not. He persevered. We need a president who will not waver. We have had enough of the Neville Chamberlain complex in top leadership. We must have a Winston Churchill. We face such serious dual enemies: the radical left secularist and radical Islam, both with the capability of destroying historic America. The left has almost succeeded. And without strong leadership, both will. Jeffrey Lord wrote in the November 15, 2011 issue of American Spectator a thought provoking comparison of 1930s Britain with Churchill’s rise to contemporary America with the the rise of Gingrich. Both are flawed, as are all people. But Churchill was needed by Britain, just as American now needs Gingrich’s leadership."

I’m totally amazed at the genius of these 3 men: West, Cain and Gingrich. I hate to admit that Newt had me tearing-up with his eloquent commentary. He truly is the great communicator. No wonder the establishment GOP is afraid of him. Wow.

What the hell were you watching, pal? I heard NO “clapping” of Calista on my TV feed, nor did I see anyone “ready to drop”
Me thinks you are here to stir the pot......if not, my apologies...but you seem a BIT ill informed.

I remember it very well also. 14 at the time. We were camping with our family at Douthat State Park in Virginia. There was a wash station in our camp area and it had electric. Someone, one of the other campers, plugged in a TV and everyone gathered around to watch. My brother and I had a 8X telescope and thought that just maybe we could watch that way as well. :)
