It was a stupid decision to attack Romney like the Democrats (unless it was designed to inoculate Romney against Democrat attacks if he became the nominee). It actually helped Romney. The real problem is the Santorum voters. They are not supporting the only conservative with a chance to stop Romney. I never expected the Paul voters to help do that. Santorum is an incredibly weak candidate to pull down 13-16% in FL. We shall see.
There is a huge difference, something the TARP and bailout guys can't seem to grasp.

Levin is not in any way bothered by Romney having worked for Bain.
If you have a problem with somebody buying a company, and then stripping away its assets and firing its workers, then I have a problem with your politics. If you had a better use for the company then you should have offered more for it than Bain did.

No problem. We’re all feeling it. Teetering on the edge of the Ameritopia cliff, about to go over, and feeling helpless to do anything about it.
I have been hyper sensitive lately, not your fault, but mine. I LOVE sarcasm, silliness and foolishness. It usually lifts me up.
I just have a terrible feeling for us this year that I cannot shake. I’m in one of my “doom and gloom” moods and am having a hard time getting out of it.

Fannie and Freddie were publically traded companies. They were not funded by the taxpayer until they got bailed out after 2008. Newt at the time spoke publically saying they should not be bailed out.
I’ve been very clear. I have a problem with a coldhearted, unethical, corporate-raiding “buyout baron” becoming President. Bain’s business model shows a “profit at all costs” mentality, and those costs included sticking creditors with the bill in bankruptcies, cashing in on government-funded pension insurance and benefitting from medicare fraud. Their creditors have accused Bain of “unjust enrichment.” They have been sued and threatened with lawsuits until they had to give up money to settle it. Does that not tell you they engaged in unethical business practices? Even Mark Levin has on air called Romney “more of a corporatist than a capitalist.”
The details are at the links I provided which you clearly chose to ignore so you could continue believing your myth that anyone who calls themselves a “capitalist” is automatically some kind of patriotic hero. Sometimes they are just greedy, selfish, unethical, uncaring, heartless individuals who will destroy anybody they need to to get ahead in business (or politics). That accurately describes Mitt Romney.
Gingrich didn’t say Bain was crony capitalism, which is when the government picks the winners in a business field either by investing in them heavily, buying them, or assigning them all its business.
Bain apparently did do certain things knowing that the government would have to pick up the slack (taking the cash reserves of a bank, for example, or a pension fund) because these were federally insured areas. But that’s just plain cynicism and unscrupulousness and is a different matter.
Getting a contract to do a particular service for a government agency is not crony capitalism. All kinds of companies, including consulting firms, do it all the time; Gingrich’s company did consulting for other entities, but his expertise was in government and that was what he was hired for. Of course, they didn’t accept any of his suggestions, but that’s a different matter.
And watch it with the “unstable” or people will think you’re working for the Romney campaign, since that’s one of their latest memes. Or maybe you are?

The above link lists private equity firms. Pick any of the top names and google “COMPANY NAME lawsuits”. And you will see that one could argue that all major private equity firms are the subject of lawsuits. So either the whole industry is immoral and we should have central planners manage things OR people sue companies that make them unhappy. Private equity firms always make some people unhappy, therefore they will always be the subject of lawsuits.

Gingrich is no finance expert ond neither is he a expert on mortage backed securities or risk management.
Then why would Freddie Mac hire Gingrich as a consultant for, if not for his links with Capital hill and influence on congress.
This is exactly the kind of crony capitalism which you despise.
As recently as mid last year, Gingrich threw Ryan’s budget plan under the bus, Ryan’s plan was one of the well though policies to reform entitlements in recent years and Gingrich is his typical selfish, egoistic displays criticised Ryan’s plan as right wing social engineering.
It is very clear Gingrich cannot be trusted and his behaviour is not stable.
“Crony capitalism” does not mean getting hired by a government entity - that’s simply government contracting.
Capitalism refers to participation in the economic system: if a company that is doing say, investing - or even building cars - suddenly becomes a defacto government-owned entity or one that is favored by the government to make it nearly the exclusive in a capitalist system that is theoretically built on competition, then we’re seeing crony capitalism because the government is picking the winners either through financial underwriting or favoritism.
Gingrich didn’t like Ryan’s plan, and it’s perfectly alright to disagree with it. That’s what eventually produces a good idea. And Gingrich does know a lot about historic economic and housing policies.
I didn’t know that we hate Mormons. Hmmm
