Romney Advisor: Putting the boot on the neck of Gingrich. Aiming to destroy Gingrich in FL for good.
Buzz Feed ^

Posted on 01/29/2012 12:30:25 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

After Gingrich Newt scored a surprise blow-out victory in South Carolina last week, the former Massachusetts governor not only unleashed a political broadside of epic proportions.

"It not about winning here anymore," one Romney staffer told BuzzFeed. "It's about destroying Gingrich — and it's working."

After two standout debate performances that put him up 9 points in recent polls, Romney is keeping the pressure on Gingrich, looking to score a blow-out victory of his own here.

To that end, Romney has rolled out a team of surrogates in the Sunshine State to take the fight to Gingrich in person: from Connie Mack (III) and Connie Mack (IV), to Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Sen. John McCain. Romney has also aired a controversial ad featuring Tom Brokaw announcing that Gingrich had been sanctioned by the House.

Today both Macks took the stage before Romney to attack Gingrich's character, proclaiming that he has a “checkered past with ethics and honesty."

Romney also launched into his longest attack directed squarely at Gingrich, devoting almost four minutes of his 18 minute stump speech attacking the former Speaker of the House.

"Mr. Speaker, your trouble in Florida is not because the audience is too quiet or too loud or because you have opponents that are tough," Romney said, comparing Gingrich's complaints about debate audiences to Goldilocks. Then, with a broad smile on his face, he listed the reasons why Florida voters are now moving away from Gingrich's campaign.

"Your problem in Florida is that you worked for Freddie Mac at a time when Freddie Mac was not doing the right thing for the American people," he added.

Shortly after Romney's remarks, his campaign emailed "Earth to Newt: Tell The Truth" detailing a long list of alleged lies while mocking his ambitious space agenda.

“You must have forgotten. Obama is much worse than Romney. “

I disagree. Romney is worse in many ways. First and foremost he is a disingenuous liar. His candidacy and potential Presidency will destroy conservatism. He will get his liberal buddies into all of the GOP leadership positions. His goal will be to destroy the Tea Party. It will be imperative for him to crush internal insurrections before focusing on the Dems. Then at best he will debate the Dems on whether the “rich” should be defined at $200k or $250k. (By the way, Zero’s position is $250k)

So no...I havent forgotten. Maybe you need to open your eyes and quit unquestioningly obeying your GOP masters.

Isn’t anybody ashamed to be using the boot-on-the-neck analogy?

We should not ask him to quit his campaign completely (He helps in the attacks o Mitt in the debates, (Just like we need Paul to take the VA vote)

Just ask the talking heads etc to ask him or themselves suggest that his voters
give
their vote to Newt in order
to win Florida.

I will never, ever support, or vote for, Romney. I would prefer Obama

I can relate...we do KNOW Obama IS the enemy of this country. Romney, on the same hand, wears a deceptive and vile mask which can and does fool the uniformed. For that, and because of the "other" agenda he has then he's telling us I will not vote for him. At least with Obama we know what we are fighting....besides if Romney does get it we're done anyway.

Mitt doesn’t seem to think that there are any Primaries after FL. I know that here in GA the people in my community are repulsed - repulsed - by Romney, the GOP, and the tactics they’re using against Newt.

Mitt acts like he’s the “nice guy” in this election, but he shows himself every day to be the most dis-honest and down right nefarious a$$%^&* I’ve seen in a long time.

This is the idiot who lost to McCain.... Jeesh...

....."Even many years after the success of the Reagan administration, Romney sought to distance himself from Reagan and the GOP, self-identifying as a progressive and independent. ..... Thus, he resorts to spending multi-millions of dollars trashing his opponents, rather than providing thoughtful arguments on conservatism and constitutionalism.

Lest we forget, it was Gingrich who was trying to run a positive campaign and who offered to debate Romney one-on-one, asking Romney to stop with the millions in unanswered ads attacking him. .. Romney declined... I have no doubt that Romney would do the same thing to Santorum if Santorum was rising in the polls, albeit on different issues.

--Mark Levin--

Romney refused to debate Newt becuase he'd fail in every sense of the word...he's a complete coward!

I voted for McCain because of Palin. I won’t vote for dishonest Romney no matter the VP choice.

Newt should be hitting Romney on his ill gotten gains— I’ve been saying that for a while. That’s Romney’s Achilles heal.

Newt has been diverted from that attack by those who say it’s an attack on capitalism— nonsense.

This is politics— Few can identify with the silver spooned, privileged candidate -who made his fortune on the family contacts. People love American Dream capitalists; they dislike with intensity “foot on your neck” crony capitalists-—

Romney can’t stop the attacks. They’re the only thing he has going for him. If Romney is the nominee the media will stop propping him up, and Obama will destroy him. Primarily because Mitt doesn’t really believe in anything except trying to win elections.

“I will never, ever support, or vote for, Romney. I would prefer Obama.”

I’m afraid I’m getting there, too. There is no way, especially after FL, I can vote for Romney. The man is just evil, as are his front men. Screw him, the Mack’s, McCain, Dole, Abrams, et al.
