"Save yourself - some money."
Those were William Shatner's last words as Priceline's "Negotiator." The discount-price travel booking site apparently killed off the television and movie legend last week in a TV advertisement.
In the commercial, which has been airing nationally and will also be shown during the Super Bowl pre-game show, Shatner's character saves the lives of fellow travelers as their bus teeters on the edge of a bridge. As the last passenger steps off, Shatner says "Save yourself - some money," handing his cellphone to a woman just before the bus falls off the bridge, bursting into flames as it crashes to the ground.
According to the company, Priceline is moving in a new direction - from negotiating to a fixed-price business model. In an official press release, Priceline's Chief Marketing Official Brett Keller said: "We felt it was necessary to go to extremes to grab the attention of every consumer in America and drive home the message that you don't have to negotiate to save money on a hotel at priceline.com. We know that The Negotiator has a lot of fans, and we hope that everyone understands this was something that just had to be done."
Because he accepted Priceline shares as part of compensation when the contract was signed in 1997, Shatner has reportedly earned $600 million as Pricline's pitchman. (Talk about smart negotiating!)

Still better than the way Kirk died.
I hope so.
One can only hope.
Please... please... and take out the Gecko too.
> Still better than the way Kirk died.
How DID Kirk die?
What ST episode was that?
And his co-workers, the cavemen and the piglet.
One can only hope.
-—Will Flo be next?-—
From your lips to God’s ear.
I cannot wait for the Grimreaper of Advertising to come for Flo.
If it didn’t happen in ST:TOS, it didn’t happen, right?
“In my star-trek universe, klingons are still our enemy, there are no therapists at the Captain’s right hand, and the only Kardashians anyone ever heard of were a tribe of 21st-century skanks.”
In Star Trek the Next Generation movie “Generations”
It was in “Generations” (a film, and eminently missable).
Kirk fell off a cliff and his last words were “It was fun” (or something like that).
The guy saved the Federation more times than I can count: at least give him a suitably epic death!
I saw it a few days ago. I thought it was odd.
Jack In The Box not only killed off their titular character, they later brought him back.
Those regressive “Progressives” at Progressive irritate me. Flo is the recipient of my angst. Hopefully, she broke Shatner’s fall.
At any given time he's been there, almost every day on some channel or other. Its hard to believe.
There are no suitable epic deaths that can match the ego of William Shatner.
Jeez I hope so. That bimbo drives me nuts. I’d not shop at Progressive just because their commercials irritate me.
Shatner is an amazing business man.
He’s easily a billionaire, all off of bad acting and worse singing.
He’s effective on commercials.
I’ll bet he shows up for somebody else within 3 months.
As for Flo, as annoying as she is to most of us, it must work or they would have dumped her long ago.
Maybe Flo will choke to death on the gecko in an unfortunate accident at a local sushi bar...win/win!
He.......... is not........... a bad..........................................actor...
LOL, nice.
If I see that damn pig slide down the zipline one more time I’m going to track him down and turn him into bacon myself. And I guarantee you his voice won’t be that low when I finish.
Kirk is dead?
When I travel to downtown Chicago, I usually end up paying $75 for a 3-4 start hotel. looking at Orbitz and the non-bid portion of Priceline, The same hotel would be $99. A hotel I booked last week for $100 is $125 on both Priceline no-bid and Orbitz.
C'mon man
According to Google, he’s worth 200 million.
He was one of the first actors to get residuals, which he got from Star Trek (TOS)
That’s where most of his wealth comes from.
Sorry to inform you that as a member of the Zombie undead, Flo is indestructible.
No way! Flo’s Not Guilty in my book....LOL If they want to get rid of a Huckster Ad man how about that one in the White House that keeps trying to raise taxes!!
Based on where she works, I hope she gets “killed off” too....Progressive sucks, it’s owner/CEO-whatever is a flaming liberal....if anybody who owns a Progressive policy ever hits me, I’m gonna develop a whiplash case and sue.
I betcha lots were hoping the gecko would step off the curb.
Kind of like Chewie's death in the Star Wars novels. He died saving the life of Anakin Solo, Han and Leia's youngest son, thus fulfilling the life debt he had to Han and his family.
Kirk death scene in ST:Generations.

I always thought his “death” at the BEGINNING of Generations was more Kirk-like — doing something he shouldn’t be doing to save the Enterprise one last time.
I liked the one with the woman sticking pins in a doll that looked like her ex-boy friend.
The one who’s getting on my nerve is the woman who does the Hughesnet commercial. Lady, I haven’t been in grade school a long, long time. Talk like an adult instead of a grade school teacher talking happy, happy, joy, joy to her class.

Do you mean “Psych”?
The con man "dad" on Psych is played by Henry Winkler.
You mean when Cameron killed Kirk?
“Still better than the way Kirk died.”
Which time?
He may die in character, but Shatner is the ULTIMATE survivor. I don’t know how many times I have read that his career was over because he was too identified with this or that character. The only thing that I know for sure died was his singing career - thank goodness!
