Red State ^ | 1-31-2012 | Tom Thurlow

Forceful, unapologetic articulation is a new requirement for Republicans: it is not only a good track record or voting record, conservatives also demand the ability to forcefully articulate conservative principles. Just ask Texas Governor Rick Perry.

You hold a crack pot theory of the law not supported by ANY current legal authority.

You do not know what you are talking about.

You are wrong, and you have absolutely no current, valid, legal authority to back you up.

You claim to be an insurance agent specializing in medicare. Do you have a vested interest in Obamacare continuing?

Like Obama, Rubio is not eligible under Article 2 US Constitution. Rubio is not an NBC. Obama is not an NBC.

I remain optimistic sooner or later the rule of law will prevail. If it doesn’t, then we all may as well become violators of the law. Since the rule of law is/will have become meaningless.

You like Romney too? Because Rubio does. He says Romney is a conservative. He believes Romney will be the nominee. He has always had a heart for Romney. Plus the fact that he is not a natural born citizen means he is not qualified for anything higher than what he has already attained. RINO Rubio can stay right where he is.

Hey, what a great idea for a ticket I would never vote for, ever, since the author implies that Romney will our the GOP nominee. The saints, apostles, martyrs, and a choir of angels could could appear on my front lawn in a cloud of glory to call on me personally to vote for Romney and I would tell them all to go straight to hell right before I turned on the sprinklers.

I will never vote for Romney.

Well, you just outed yourself as a conspiracy kook, didn't you?

Do you also agree with Ron Paul that AIDS is a military germ warfare experiment gone bad?

I HATE OBAMA’s policies, I have a “repeal Obamacare” bumper sticker on my car, and I worked hard for the election of a new KS AG who is fighting Obamacare in Court.

Try again!

I added the text to this graphic months ago. And now here you are. If Romney is the nominee, I don't care if they put Sarah Palin on the ticket. Not again, Karl, it won't work this time.
Yea, verily, and amen. Preach it. Testify! I am so right there with you.

According to you any anchor baby can become president. It’s a good thing you weren’t around at the start of this country. You might have gone into open rebellion when the founders decided otherwise.

After his declaring Romney the nominee I wouldn’t piss on Rubio if he was on fire.

Actually, YOU are wrong about “anchor babies” -—
My Senator, Jerry Moran, has made the case, along with others, that, for instance, illegal alien couples who have a child in the United States can not DIVORCE in the United States, can they?
So what of their children, who are obviously NOT “-— subject to the jurisdiction thereof-—”

I think that Congress can define this issue, without any Constituional Amendments.

We can stop the Anchor Baby problem with simple legislation.

Can’t. Not a natural-born citizen. Just like Obama is not. Rubio does not qualify for VP either.

Born in Miami, FLORIDA in 1971. His parents were Cuban citizens who became U.S. citizens in 1975. Babies born in the U.S. hold citizenship here even if their parents are not citizens.

Sorry. His parents had to be citizens at the time of his birth for him to be an NBC. They were four years too late. Close but no cigar. He is a native-born citizen, not natural-born. The two are, Constitutionally, NOT the same.

Aren’t we all getting tired of the moderate liberal at the top and whoever they pick for the VP. I am not selling my principles to vote for Romney i.e. McCain. If Newt cannot make it by convention, let the GOP defend itself. America is in bad shape to keep putting these fake promotional TV politicians in power.

I understand your passion but you allowing your emotions to cloud reason. You may want to revisit your definition of native vs. natural born citizen after the judge rules on the Georgia ballot challenge this week. Here is a reference to the court cases they used as a basis for filing the complaint. Obama is not a natural-born citizen, never has been and neither is Rubio, based on the citizenship status of their fathers at the time of their birth.

You have no idea what “subject to the jurisdiction thereof “ means do you and that is a wholly different argument from the NBC clause of the Constitution.

Some of you anti-sovereignty people actually believe that the 14th amendment gives citizenship to the anchor babies. Whether it does or does not, the 14th amendment only deals with citizenship. Citizenship would only qualify the anchor babies for president if they were alive at the adoption of the Constitution. Since they were not, these mere citizens cannot become president. Only natural born citizens can run for office of president now.

Anchor babies are not now, never have been and never will be NBC. They cannot rightfully run for the presidency without the Constitution being amended. They are the very reason the founders stated what they did about who could become president in Article 2 section 1 clause 5 of the Constitution.

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Plain as day. One - a natural born citizen or two - a US citizen at the time of the adoption of our Constitution are the only ones eligible to run for the office of President.

from Kansas58:

You are wrong -— what you posted no longer holds water. Natural Law and Common Law only count when there is no Constitutional guidance or legislative guidance. Now there IS.

Rubio is QUALIFIED -— and only crack pots think otherwise.

That is just the way it is. NOBODY in the legal profession, save a very small number of quacks, agrees with you. NO elected officials of any weight agree with you..

----

I'm sorry you so scornfully chose to disagree with my post #31, let alone all the other posters that also agree with the supreme court.

It's unfortunate you chose such angry rhetoric to express your completely unsupported position.

There are some great legal minds here on FR that have written extensively on this subject -- I'm pinging at least two of them. Perhaps you would like to elaborate on why they are "quacks".

In the interest of posterity, are you of the class "jerkis soli" (from a place full of jerks) or "jerkus sanguinis" (a jerk based on ancestry)? At any rate, it appears you meet the highest of jerk requirements, meaning both parents must have been jerks, whose offspring is clearly a "natural born jerk".

Your choice to remain ignorant and angry, or not.

Your choice.

There is enough researched proof on FR to enlighten anyone who isn’t ignorantly wedded to nonsense.

And I’m not going to bother reading anything you might comment on the matter.
