This contest has shown that there are many conservative commentators/columnists that were all too willing to set aside their core beliefs for so-called electability.
Her BEST friend is Bill Maher!!! Need I say more?? No different than Arriana Huffington when she started hanging with Al Franken.
You missed nothing because Rush is not pro-Mittens
One answer is to follow the money. Ariana Huffington turned a flip-flop from "conserv" to "lib" into a big pile of cash. Ann could be preparing for a big flip to the dark side, and doing it in stages so she carries some of her current supporters with her.
It is also a real possibility that she has been a closet homosexual, and the cognitive dissonance of that has worn on her the way if wore on Andrew Sullivan and eventually forced a flip on his part.
I would not be surprised to see a coming out of the closet to the fame, adulation, and MONEY of the liberal side, who will then elevate her to the highest level.
She would be a wonderful trophy fem for them to display.
Ann should have suck to the (bogus) electability meme. Pimping Romneycare is wading into shark jumping waters.
Conservatism was the ammo that offered the most bang for the young, bellicose Coulter. She was the rebel against rebels, the outrageous right among the left (in college, law school, etc.) Now she seeks a second adolescence, trying to recapture that feeling, and being she’s firmly in the ranks of the conservatives, she can only rebel by becoming the outrageous left among the right.
It’s nothing to do with principles, really. It’s to do with psychology. The extreme high-strung tension, the manic torrent of words, the pyrotechnic hostility; these things betray a long-running inner conflict — as do the chronic smoking and drinking.
Then too, when the inner 14-year-old finds herself in the body of a 50-year-old...that’s got to detonate the ticking bomb. Nothing gets irrelevant faster than a woman passing 50, and losing attention is not to be borne.
Coulter’s concealed Carrie is coming out blasting.
Is it “cognitive dissonance” or “demonic influence”?
Rom 1:28
Screwtape, huh?
Could be, my friend. Could be.
Rush Limbaugh has made no endorsements, but I've never detected any pro-Romney bias in his program.
Oh joy. Another Coulter bashing thread. Yawn.
Coulter has turned into a real embarrassment.
“So called” indeed.
You and CT are wrong.
Rush supported Romney in 2008 over McCain, but is not a Romney supporter. That is what he explained to a Mormon caller who wanted to know why he had abandoned Romney this time around. He is not a Romney fan, but in 2008 he was a better choice than McCain. I’d agree with that, too. Unfortunately, he’d not have chosen Palin, though, so we’d not have known and come to love her common sense, love of God and country conservatism today. One good thing that came out of Mccain’s campaign. The ONLY good thing that came out of it, really!
Ann’s next book will be titled: ‘How To Talk To A Conservative (If You Must)’.
Romney has never been a better choice than anyone.
That claim that of three choices in 2008 , the hard left, Massachusetts Governor who gave us homosexual marriage, Romneycare, and was literally a warrior for abortion and, literally campaigned against Ted Kennedy as being too conservative on homosexuals, who destroyed his state party and left with 34% approval, has ever been the best choice for anything, is absurd.
How could any man believe this?
“I think now, based on the way the campaign has shaken out, that there probably is a candidate on our side who does embody all three legs of the conservative stool, and thats Romney.””
Early in he book. Life and times of Joseph Smith. In describing early church organization, and what gets it so many non-Mormon hostiles: hard materialism; communalism that is strangely similar to communism; polygamy; and wild tales, almost like the snake handlers.
If Romney can try and sell this as the latest brand of conservatism, better if we are to buy it, I will be turning over my GOP card and joining a cargo cult in the South Pacific. Bought there already, anyway.
Is that a recent quote from Rush Limbaugh?
