Ann Coulters support for Mitt Romney entered a new stage today with a column offering an all out embrace of Romneycare. In the process, she insults the intelligence of conservative critics of the law and doesnt address their actual arguments against it.
Her first defense of the law is to name other conservatives who supported it at the time. So what? Many of us were opposed to it all along. For instance, in August 2006, before Barack Obama even announced he was seeking the presidency, I fretted that Romneys support for universal health care made him the natural heir to President Bushs big government compassionate conservatism. In July 2007, I wrote that, It is hard to imagine anything representing a greater affront to conservative principles than using government to coerce private citizens into purchasing healthcare. David Hogberg was another early critic, among many others.
Coulter goes on to suggest that conservative opposition to Romneycare is based on mere semantics: But because both Obamacare and Romneycare concern the same general topic area -- health care -- and can be nicknamed (politician's name plus "care"), Romney's health care bill is suddenly perceived as virtually the same thing as the widely detested Obamacare. (How about "Romneycare-gate"?)

What on Earth happened to her? What has happened to pretty much all of them.
I hate Romney, and all the Newt haters, too.
What in the hell has happened to her?
Was she ‘replaced’ by a Body Snatcher?
One certainly wonders. However, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin are still keeping the faith.
The title could have been shortened to, “Coulter Shameful”
She hasn’t been the same for a long time. She really has changed and not for the better.
Rush is pro Romney and anti-Newt, he isn’t true to the faith.
By the way, wait until the day comes when Coulter and all the radio hosts are having to deal with the Christian backlash against the Mormon bishop, Mitt Romney.
They will then fight to force us to accept Mormonism, as mainstream.
Romney is going to make conservatives and Christians, very unwelcome among the GOP.
She may have lovely legs but she has gone over to the dark side.
meh
I must have missed that about Rush being pro-Romney. Please enlighten.
Ever since Ann(orexic) Coulter became the nations most famous Fag Hag by virtue of accepting a position on GOProud’s Board, she’s gone way off the Conservative rails. She’s trying now to do what so many liberals and RINO’s try to do: Define Conservatism Downward. And this column is a prime example, trying to sell Conservatives that it’s Conservative to embrace a socialized medicine program because she makes the feeble argument that it’s a States Rights gobbledeygook. I never really trusted her, given her propensity to entangle herself personally with some clearly liberal freaks like Bill Maher.
Any Conservative that still listens to Coulter is NOT a Conservative! She has long become a product of the political left (or money worshiping liberal)...
We all know what it takes to make money in the current environment and it has nothing to do with being conservative...
>> What on Earth happened to her?
She’s a socialite, never a statesman.
It is a long story, Bloody Thursday and all that, the 2008 endorsement, the embarrassing show Monday before the vote, and Tuesday, the day of the vote.
Rush is still pulling for Romney, definitely not Newt.
The threads were hot with this stuff for the past week, when Bloody Thursday set it off.
this ansel poster has been posting this crap for awhile now, and shot down every time. Rush has criticized and praised every one of these candidates. He rightly was bothered by Newt's Bain attacks. I think our poster here's that and now sees Rush as pro- Romney.
Nothing happened to her. What’s going on here is the classic case of a chick with a crush on the best looking guy in he room, and who has decided she will defend any and all of his transgressions. It’s like those stories of women who fall for prisoners and come to their defense.
How can Hannity have that smirky creep on his show again promoting RomneyCare. How can O’Reilly? Both have lambasted RomneyCare just as bad as ObamaCare. Coulter has went off the deep end. How long will be it before she jumps to the democratic party. Never forget she said she would vote for Hillary Clinton in 2008 if McCain was nominated. I have no reason to believe she didn’t. She said she would.
What can you say. She's a low rent hooker act for sure.
