I don’t get offended easily. In fact, I am not sure, but this queezy feeling that this causes might actually be me being offended by this heathen’s attemtp at scripture interpretation and sermon.

Please, sir, on behalf of a struggling country, fake anything else you want. But stay out of my house and my religion.

The President brings shame to Christianity when he misses this bad trying to appear faithful. That offends me.

Jesus would smite Obama and send him back to the darkest bowels of the netherworld kingdom of Hades that he came from.

Actually, one of the big political issues of the day, which supported the wealthy at the expense of farmers and other poor people during Jesus’s day, was the high level of taxation on those who couldn’t afford to pay. In particular, taxes had to be paid in Roman coin, but there was a scarcity of Roman coin in the barter economy of first century Israel. The result is that the well-connected could use their access to scarce coinage to force the poor farmers to sell land at discounted prices in order to raise the coin necessary to pay the taxes. Though Jesus often spoke against the rich for reasons like this, even He said “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.”

Obama, of course, doesn’t advocate lowering taxes on the middle class or anything like that, which would be more consistent with what was going on economically in Jesus’s day. Obama only advocates raising taxes nominally on people who have the resources to find ways to avoid them, or who have the ability to pass those taxes on to employees and customers. And of course, if there is any extra money raised by increased taxes, it goes to crony-capitalist campaign contributors like Solyndra, etc, or to organized political supporters in the form of “stimulus.” Which is actually somewhat similar to the corruption in Jesus’s day.

Yes, of course, we all know that Jesus taught that the government should take money by threat of lethal force from rich people and give it to poor people.

He obviously has not read his Bible.

Jesus said in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”.

Nothing in there about Jesus wanting to take money by force from the rich to give it to the poor.

And Jesus said in Matthew 13:12, “For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.”

Now, that’s talking to spiritual matters, but if 0bama0 can use scripture out of context, then so can we.

But here is the HEART of the New Testament about giving, from 2nd Corinthians 9:7, where Paul writes, “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

And in 2nd Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

There is no liberty in having the threat of jackbooted thugs dispossess you of your home, and even your life, unless you pay-up so they can “redistribute” your hard-earned income to “the poor”.

Even worse, only about 10% of what the government takes for “the poor” ever gets there. The other 90% is consumed by “administrative costs”.

Compare that to the 95% efficiency of organizations like the Salvation Army, United Jewish Appeal, Mennonite Central Committee, and the vast array of Catholic charities.

The first thing a Christian knows is you do not speak for Jesus. You can only quote his scripture.

Obama reportedly gave 1% of his income to charity.

Biden gave $369 one year total to charity.

John Heinz Kerry one year gave zero, nada, nothing.

Why give to charity when they can take it from us?

Would suggest that Michael Novak's "The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism" and other writings are helpful in sorting out and providing sound reasoning on the merits of America's founding ideas as opposed to those advocated by the present Administration.

For the sake of argument, let’s say Obama is correct — Jesus would “require more” of the rich. My question would be, how and in what manner does he think Jesus would spend those revenues? And another — would Jesus spend money he didn’t have?

I don’t Jesus was concerned with the matters of government and policy. He desired to change men’s souls, and thus their personal actions.

As for abortion, I don’t believe he would have run for Senate to change abortion policy but instead preach out to the souls of abortion Doctors and say “How can you not see this is lIfe?”, and try to enact change in that way.

Jesus asked men to voluntarily change their lives . He was not in the business of determining appropriate tax brackets. Good grief.

6. Untrue - Obummer lies again:

1. Envy is a sin.

2. Jesus had gold:

``On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of GOLD and of incense and of myrrh.``
Mt 2:11

3. Judas was in charge of the purse./

4. Jesus had rich supporters:

Luke tells us that several women who had been healed helped support Jesus “out of their own means” (Luke 8:3). These included “Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others.”[33] Although they were probably involved in meal preparation, Luke indicates that their most significant role was to pay the bills.

5. You will always have the poor with you, Mk 14: 7

6. Untrue Obummer lies again:

Luke 19:2-10 (New International Version)
A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was WEALTHY. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Obama: Jesus would tax the rich

This evil "person" needs to stick with what he knows.

The best he can say is that mohammed would cut the throat of the rich and take what they were traveling with.

Jesus was not speaking of tax rates. Actually, Jesus steered rather clear of political issues.

There is another Biblical passage telling the story of the widow offering her mite. Jesus approved that, and held it up as an example. It is not a model for taxation, but it illustrates the principle that even those with little can give, and this makes them a participant in charity. Of course, the window’s gift was voluntary. Taxation is not.

In other passages, Jesus implies that what you do in small things determines also what you will do in important matters. If you give in to small temptations, how will you resist large ones?

If we have a country where almost half the populace is encouraged to loot the treasury (under “programs” for their “benefit”), then is it any wonder that some people of wealth will also act dishonestly, only on a larger material scale?

It sickens me that some speech writers for Obama just scan the bible in order to find passages taken out of context to support their big government taxation.

If you read Luke 12 and particularly 12:48 from which his quote about “from those who much is given much is expected” it isn’t referring to money. Nowhere in Luke 12 is money mentioned expect the last word “penny” which still is not a reference to the use of money itself.

Luke 12 speaks about knowledge and the spreading of the Word through believers. The more you know, the greater the responsibility to share that and wait on the Lord until his return.

Disgusting opportunistic, blasphemous, wretched man.
