Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney for president Thursday, saying he's impressed by the Republican candidate's debate prowess and believes he could easily beat President Obama in November.
"Mitt is tough. He's smart. He's sharp. He's not going to allow bad things to continue to happen to this country that we all love," Trump said in Las Vegas, telling the candidate to "go out and get 'em."
The real estate mogul, speaking briefly with reporters before the announcement, said that even though he "never knew" Romney before the race began, he's come to know him in recent months.
"His general attitude and the last two debates were very impressive," Trump said.
He also cited Romney's position on China, calling the former Massachusetts governor

I said two weeks ago, I was not sure of either of the 4 remaining on the GOP side. I am more unsure now than ever. I don’t feel like we have a chance in winning. When the GOP is as split as it is and everyone of the remaining 4 getting endorsements, just makes me sick we didn’t have better choices.

Crony capitalism at its best. Trump is a snakeoil salesman like Romney. Just what deals were made between the two of them before this endorsement? Old republican establishment politics.
Now Romney will go to Trumps casino and put on a show. If Romney becomes president (God forbid) watch the cronyism go into high gear. I hear Romney doesn’t care about the poor. Trump cares even less. Newt will do well without him.
I wonder if they intentionally leaked Newt as the person Trump was going to endorse just to dispirit us.
The elite HATE us and think we’re all mouth-breathing morons. They fully expect we will be there, willingly or not, come election day - just as we were last time. In truth, they are our enemy every bit as much as the Democrats. And they are very powerful.
If you haven't realized...many of FReepers are unstable in all their ways...tossed about like a ship on the ocean. They are probably the same freepers who will believe a PPP poll when it shows them GOOD things...but cry foul when it heralds a double digit win for Romney in Florida...saying it can't be trusted and "they don't believe it!" They will scream at dims for recess appointments but if a republican turns around and does the same thing...or 6 years from now...they will cheer and rationalize it. They supported Bush as he ran up the deficit....relentlessly.

This endorsement stuff stinks of the Romney cabal. Every time there’s an endorsement flap you can guarantee the little Romney twits are behind it. Remember when they put out the garbage about Fred dropping out and endorsing McCain? Or even Bachmann yesterday. Then the target has to spend time straightening out the story instead of getting his message out.
Early in Rush’ show today he said that Gingrich’s campaign said they knew NOTHING about any Trump endorsement. That tells me Romney’s little trolls were feeding the false story to their media pals. That way the story now is Newt is PISSED, instead of one a billionaire endorses an out of touch rich guy who doesn’t care about poor people.

Being a proud birther, I was fooled by Trump. He said things I wanted to hear and I ignored the things I didn't want to be true. But now, it turns out, many of you were right all along. He is a shyster and an opportunist. I can't support anyone who supports Romney. I will NEVER vote for Romney. He will be our latest McCain. Romney will be meeting more of the elitist and over time like Bush become more liberal then he already is, if that is possible.

If Romney gets the nomination and Ron Paul goes 3rd party, I will vote Ron Paul over Romney. In that scenario RP odds are as good as Mitts in my opinion.

I agree on the “hard work” ...it also takes core values, intellect and the ability to articulate that intellect ...plus a whole lot of money ...and a large, efficient and effective organization helps a lot, too!
Newt didn't ask anyone to change the rules ...he asked the GOP to ABIDE BY THEIR OWN RULES. Don't fall for the propaganda.
