Maybe they’re set up differently in other parts of the country, but here in NC, there is the backlit menu with speaker for placing an order, a first window with cashier for paying for the order, and a second window for picking up the order. There are gaps between them all, but most often between the pay window and the pick-up window, due to people fumbling for change or digging around for money in a purse or something. That’s where she cut in, going straight to the pick-up window to order, pay and pick up.
Yeah, it’s the same way here in Texas. I never thought of anyone not stopping to order first. At Braums, if an order is taking a while to fill they send the car forward and out of way so customers behind won’t have to wait. That’s very considerate.
