What could be the justification offered for the beating?

It seems to me if there’s “reason to believe” the person stopped isintending battery or other harm, then, MAYBE “discipline”,”counceling”, etc. is in order.

If there is no such “reason to believe” then I think it should be treated as criminal A&B.

Apparently beating the crap out of people the Police make contact with is just S.O.P. in many jurisdictions.

Henderson is apparently paying Sgt’s six figure compensation to beat abuse motorist. Seems like a great deal of money for the amount of education and technical complexity that a Police Officer needs to have.

In the private sector, a six figure compensation requires doing a job that most cannot do, and working very very long hours.

This guy is just another Police Sgt. A job that anybody who has run a taco bell crew could successfully navigate.

I was appalled by the train of logic I heard used by police when I served on a jury last year.

They managed to justify leaving their patrol area, after their shift was over at one in the morning, go onto a private property on a secluded driveway, waking the property owner who was passed out in the front seat of his truck listening to the radio, arrest him for DUI, have his CDL terminated for a year because he would not take a breath test.

The cops and the state were so intent on proving the guy was drunk, they forgot to worry about whether it was any of their business , or what they were doing to prove it.

We found him not guilty faster than it took them to reassemble the court to read our verdict.
