Walker Recall - News regarding writing in Walker for the Democrat primary
Friends of Scott Walker, Republican Party of Wisconsin | 2/9/11 | Mike Grebe, Brad Courtney

Posted on 02/09/2012 2:32:41 PM PST by Jean S

The following statement is on behalf of Mike Grebe, Chairman of the Friends of Scott Walker and Brad Courtney, Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin:

“The Republican Party of Wisconsin along with the Friends of Scott Walker want to address a grassroots effort to write in Governor Walker’s name on the ballot during a Democratic primary election.

Under state statutes, when a recall election is certified against Governor Walker he is automatically placed on the ballot as a Republican. According to Wisconsin Statute 8.03, a candidate cannot represent both parties, therefore making his name invalid in the Democratic primary, despite the number of write-in votes he may receive.

We appreciate the outpouring of support on behalf of Governor Walker and want to thank all the volunteers who have worked so hard to ensure a fair election process. If you haven’t yet volunteered and would like to help, please visit www.scottwalker.org for more information on how to become involved.”

Sincerely,

Mike Grebe

Chairman, Friends of Scott Walker

Brad Courtney

Chairman, Republican Party of Wisconsin

We just have to get the vote out. Received this in an email this morning: Kathleen Falk, a very liberal pro-union, Madison Demcrat, is now the endorsed candidate to run against Gov. Scott Walker in the very expensive and ridiculous recall election. Falk received the endorsement of the statewide teachers union. Not only that, she has promised to VETO any state budget, if elected, that doesn’t include the return of collective bargaining, mandatory union membership, and the return to the day of the union running the State of Wisconsin. What that means is that she would be willing to veto a budget that includes all types of social spending to aide Wisconsin residents in things like BadgerCare, social services, medicare, etc. So Falk, the liberal Madison Demcrat, is willing to throw the little people aside to protect the perks and powers of the union. Is this what you want in the governor’s office?

Yes, I'm thinking of doing it. Falk is the annointed one anyway.

Silly laws wouldn't stop a Democrat from doing it...

They would just file a lawsuit somewhere and the Dictatorship of the Judiciary would nullify the law.

I’m getting the feeling that there won’t even be a democrat primary. The unions, in their last gasp, are pressuring others not to run.

THe unions are looking stupider and stupider! This is a good thing because I don’t think Falk is very popular, or appealing, outside of Madison. We do have a realtor by the same name on the east side, however. THat could confuse some people.

It is likely that the rats will run a fake republican against Walker to force a primary for just this reason. You can’t vote in both. If you vote in the dem primary you can’t vote for Walker in the repub primary.

They might run a fake but if they do, it’ll give us more time to expose Falk’s deal with the unions. IMO it’s a lose-lose decision for them.

Say, is anyone posting a running tab on how many bogus signatures are being thrown out?

Oh, and once those petitions are posted to the Internet, I hope someone is saving them. They are likely full of people with outstanding warrants, who were stupid enough to use their real address, convicted felons, people who cannot legally vote and committed a crime, etc.

Not yet. We've finished the verification of the Walker recall petitions, all the victory centers have sent the info to the Walker lawyers and we're just finishing up with the Kleefish recalls, some have been sent to the lawyers.

What I find interesting, the GAB bought that $100,000 software to translate handwriting to text weeks ago but they still haven't release the number of signatures from any recall.

5 of 6 of the "bipartisan" GAB were appointed by Jim Doyle.

They are legal records and are published by law.
verifytherecall.com has been and will continue to go through the the petitions, they’re also legally challenging their legal standing with the GAB.
afraidfortherepublic knows more about their efforts than I do.

Yep, I say do it anyway. The voting booth belongs to the individual. At least for now.

Hi, I know I'm late to the thread.

Allow me to explain...

I just got a letter from "Friends of Scott Walker, Kate Lind, Treasurer" asking for contributions.

I know that the Dems set up fake Sarah Palin legal defense funds to siphon money away from her and to bilk her legal supporters.

Can any Wisconsin Freepers verify this org for me before I decide to contribute? Thanks.

Cheers!
