Not sure who your source is, but here’s mine: http://www.ontheissues.org/Rick_Santorum.htm

Santorum’s positions on immigration—

We need immigration; but we need respect of the law. (Jan 2012)
Welcome legal immigrants as part of made-in-America plan. (Nov 2011)
No in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. (Sep 2011)
Finish the border fence; make English the official language. (Sep 2011)
No tricks like 1986; secure the border first. (Sep 2011)
No promises & no government benefits to immigrants. (Sep 2011)
No benefits for illegal immigrants. (Jun 2011)
Voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006)
Voted NO on establishing a Guest Worker program. (May 2006)
Voted NO on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security. (May 2006)
Voted NO on giving Guest Workers a path to citizenship. (May 2006)
Voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work. (Jul 1998)
Voted YES on visas for skilled workers. (May 1998)
Voted YES on limit welfare for immigrants. (Jun 1997)

Sounds to me like someone tough on illegals.

Do you bother reading what you post. On the gun lock issue where this TABLED piece of legislation was voted on by Rick.

NOTE: A SENATOR MAY MOVE TO TABLE ANY PENDING LEGISLATION, THUS HALTING FURTHER CONSIDERATION. A "YEA" VOTE IS IN SUPPORT OF HALTING FURTHER CONSIDERATION, AND A "NAY" VOTE IS IN SUPPORT OF FURTHER CONSIDERATION. TABLING MOTIONS ARE OFTEN USED TO KILL LEGISLATION.

Gosh. Is that why Rick voted Yeah on this? To table it?

The Reverend Rick “me too!” Santorum, doing his best “See! I'm a CONservative too!) impression photo op. Complete with his barely been used, over-under and his shiny blaze orange “I'm a hunter too” jacket.

Nice try Reverend, but those of us who have spent a lifetime feeding our families on wild game, see through this circus act.

They are cheap until you look at NRA ratings. What was Lurches rating? What was Ricks? I live in PA and he was a great 2nd amendment Senator. Just come out and say you hate Rick and be done with it instead of feigning phoney outrage over Rick hunting in new gear. Gear that was borrowed while he was out of state hunting in IA.

Do you know what reciprocity there is in the states Rick traveled through to get to IA to campaign? Would you travel through a state with laws like MA to hunt in Maine if you didn’t have to?

As is, it looks contrived and plastic.

Might not have been, it’s just how it looks.

As for Newt...

http://www.newt.org/solutions/second-amendment
Newt is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and speaks regularly at the NRA’s Annual Meeting. He received an A or A-plus rating from the NRA all ten terms that he served in the House of Representatives, and received the NRA’s Defender of the Second Amendment award in 2010.

No, it's a twisted interpretation of a fact.

He (Newt) received an A or A-plus rating from the NRA all ten terms that he served in the House of Representatives, and received the NRA’s Defender of the Second Amendment award in 2010.

And that compares with Santorum's A+ how?

Go away.

[I'd have no problems voting for either him or Newt.]

From a fundamental standpoint, neither would I. But, I am a realist. You know as well as I do, the disaster that a nomination of Santorum would mean. The MSM would rip him into confetti sized chunks, and you know it. On top of that, the USA is not the same thing anymore. The voters are no longer predictably conservative.

" You know as well as I do, the disaster that a nomination of Santorum would mean. The MSM would rip him into confetti sized chunks"

I disagree with this assertion. What would they rip him on? If it's his stance on issues, then lets have this debate!! The main problem I have with Newt is that they would rip him, but not on the issues. On his mess of a personal life. That would be the story from the opposition. I want the story to be about the issues. I still believe most of America is still more conservative than not. His only problem right now is money and that won't be a problem once he gets the nomination. He'll have the cash pouring in and the Romney supporters will not have felt alienated by his campaign since he never went personal on Mittens. He can unite the party.

Santorum voted for taxpayer funded anti-gun education in the public schools. Even rino McCain voted Nay as did Thompson of TN and Inhofe of Oklahoma.

Facts on Santorum are...The National Rifle Association’s threat to punish senators who vote for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor has been met with a shrug by Democrats from conservative-leaning states and some Republicans who are breaking with their party to support her. The gun-rights group is used to getting its way by spooking lawmakers about the political consequences of defying its wishes. But it never before has weighed in on a Supreme Court confirmation battle. It was cautious about breaking that pattern, and it looks like a losing fight to defeat President Barack Obama’s first pick for the court.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32251444/ns/politics-capitol_hill/t/nra-cant-halt-sotomayors-march-court/

Santorum also voted for Sonia Sotomayer to serve as US Circuit Court Judge, 2nd circuit during the Clinton presidency..even McCain voted nay! this woman now serves on the SCOTUS! and is NO friend of the NRA or 2nd ammendment rights.

Santorum supported the extremist judge..Sonia Sotomayer for circuit court during the Clinton presidency. She is a nightmare when it comes to upholding the constitution and now serves on our Supreme Court. Look, Santorum has not been vetted yet..wait until all the facts come out on him..from his anti controlling illegal votes to his endorsement of Spector and the consequences we are dealing with today such as Obamacare. They needed 60 votes to get it passed and Spector was that 60th vote. Lots of damage done..no thanks to Santorum.

Just like how they are trying to make hay our of nothing with that RON PAUL political hit piece ad on video where even Newt is saying and lying because he and his supporters are desperate into making it look like Rick is against and attacking the Tea Party when Rick said nothing of the sort.. now if they actually listened to Rick's actual words, they would get what he was actually say, but, once again, the Newt supporters can't let facts get in the way.... they are sleazy as the Mitt Romney lies machine.

You are evading the FACT that while Little Ricky was in DC ..he voted to nominate her to the circuit court during the Clinton era...opened doors for her..didnt it? she got her foot in the door and Obama loved it. She is no friend of the NRA! so why did Santorum support her? she has done damage on the circuit court and now the supreme court. No, you are ignoring his record because you view him as some religious, constitutionalist. He is not. He even endorsed rino Romney for gov of Mass.

Newt’s not a liberal. Only a totally ignorant nutjob would fall for that.

He said it’s right-wing social engineering because the right-wing was trying to force people in Medicare to make a change and Newt said it has to be optional or the public would reject it as too radical.

He didn’t say the era of Reagan is over. What he did say is we need new policies for a new Republican campaign because many of the issues from the Reagan era like the Soviet expansion have changed.

Every good Republican supports RINOs in liberal districts because it’s better than putting up a conservative and having them lose to a liberal. The Tea Party guy didn’t win that race, did he?

Conservatives ARE environmentalists. We’re not for dirty air and dirty water.

No one cares about global warming. Even Obama and Pelosi’s congress couldn’t pass cap and trade. The issue is deader than the dodo. Newt said recently that he doesn’t believe in global warming.

Rick Santorum received an A+ rating from the NRA, but even bigger IS:

‘“He [Rick Santorum] was the most effective advocate of bringing it [legislation to protect gun companies from frivolous lawsuits] to the floor and getting a vote scheduled. He used his influence to get it to the floor. Without that, we would have lost every American gun company.”
– Wayne LaPierre, CEO – National Rifle Association, October 25, 2006’

excerpt http://www.ricksantorum.com/defending-2nd-amendment-rights

Especially focus on this (from above link):

‘”He used his influence to get it to the floor. Without that, we would have lost every American gun company.”’

Rick Santorum not only votes the right way but he GETS THINGS DONE!

btw, Ron Paul, Nancy Pelosi, et all voted AGAINST that bill which according NRA CEO, if that bill were not passed, it would have caused gun manufacturers to leave the U.S.A.!
