BREAKING: Pro-life leaders slam White House ‘compromise’ on birth control mandate

WASHINGTON, February 10, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The White House announced today that, instead of forcing religious employers to pay for birth control, it will force insurance companies to offer the drugs free of charge to all women, no matter where they work.

The plan, touted as a concession to freedom of religion and conscience, was immediately denounced by pro-life Rep. Chris Smith. “The so-called new policy is the discredited old policy, dressed up to look like something else,. said Smith. .It remains a serious violation of religious freedom. Only the most naï or gullible would accept this as a change in policy.”

“The White House Fact Sheet is riddled with doublespeak and contradiction,” Smith continued. “It states, for example, that religious employers ‘will not’ have to pay for abortion pills, sterilization and contraception, but their ‘insurance companies’ will. Who pays for the insurance policy? The religious employer.”

Stick it to them, Gumdrop. We never have any letters to the editor in our newspaper any more. Writing letters to the editor has become a lost art along with morals and commonsense.

Does Obama not fear the Lord??? Does he not realize that he will burn in hell???

Why should he fear? Obama IS the Lord and master of all! /sarc

What he needs is ten minutes in a room with a nun. The guy would never be the same again.

Like Rush said this is a power grab by Obama...When he was elected President he took an oath to uphold the Constitution...He has destroyed it...Why can he not be impeached on that alone??? Why has not Congress stopped him??? Why is he even allowed to get away with all that he’s doing???

The Church still PAYS for the insurance covering the employee, so they are still paying for these things. This is absurd.

How did the President get the power to make these laws unilaterally and change them at will??

Apparently we have an imperial Presidency who gets to make laws and change them at will.

Obama doesn’t ‘buy this’. He knows exactly what he is doing.

Any catholic who votes for Bammy is WORSE than a heathen—for at least a heathen has nothing to do with the Almighty but a catholic who supposedly acknowledges God violates the tenets by voting for a baby killing, abortionist loving president and Dem cronies who have sold their soul for votes and the expense of innocent baby blood. Hate to be them on Judgement Day.

Galatians 6:7–8 (NKJV)
7. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

The life expectancy for women born in the US is now about 80 years (and that should slowly increase). For more than half of a typical woman's lifespan, she cannot become pregnant and therefore has no reason to use birth control. I would guess that the percentage of women of child-bearing years who use birh control is much lower than the 98 or 99% they are quoting. It's probably not one of those questions where poll results are going to be very accurate.

I was watching this catholic religious program last night, and this congressman said that someone leaked this out and Obama didn’t want it out until after the election....but he also said that this was about obamacare and just not about the right to life but also the end of life, for the sick n old people and about how they would be denied healthcare and medicine...

“Why is he even allowed to get away with all that he’s doing???”

All I can think of is that It’s supernatural. God is allowing the deception. The antichrist spirit is hovering. People are becoming deluded.

And....the men of today just don’t have the means neccessary to rise up and fight. Thomas Jefferson gave us the right to overthrow a tyrannical government. Said it is our DUTY in fact.

Here in NY we have Catholic Health Insurance called Fidelis care. This change would force them to give out contraceptives.Obama must think we are stupid

http://www.fideliscare.org/downloads/prov_manual/pm_16.pdf

Fidelis Care New York will offer natural family planning services and certain other reproductive health care services. However, Fidelis has elected not to offer all reproductive and family planning services, including abortion, sterilization, and artificial contraception, as a standard benefit nor to receive premium dollars from the State of New York for such services.

“Letters to the editor, and in-the-face responses when I hear stupid statements about Newt or Rick being extremists”

I hate that these statements appear even on FR. We need to push both of them to be more conservative, not less.

“I have a friend who is a devout Mormon. Her daughter went into a clinic to get a pre-marital physical exam. She was put throught a gautlet of intrusive questions about her relationship with her fiance. Now I can understand some of these questions being necessary. However, when the young woman told the physician that she and her fiance did not believe in pre-marital sex and that she was therefore a virgin - she was met witrh scepticism and an attitude of disbelief. This young lady was made to feel like a freak of nature because she had sincere religious beliefs against promiscuity.”

I know exactly what this is about.
In these cases you don’t say “I don’t believe in pre-marital sex therefore I couldn’t possibly...what were you thinking?”
Just say there was no sex. Doctors don’t want to deduce ‘obvious’ implications because there are plenty of people who made mistakes and slipped despite their beliefs.
