What’s your source on that, or can you give me any leads as to the timing of when Boehner said that?

There is more afoot here than meets the eye. I’m convinced of it.

Why aren't the critics going after the last Bush administration where this whole thing began. AG Mulkasey had to have approved "Fast and Furious" and the Obama administration came along and decided to continue it. I think they decided the threshhold on what is and is not legal, had been lowered so they just embelished it by involving many other agencies of the federal government.

Many times when something like this happens in our government the comment is, "I was not protecting the man, I was protecting the presidency". Well, after the news this past week on John Kennedy and Miss Mi Mi, I believe there is not much left to protect.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but some days I take a break from FR.:)

I read it in a post from the CoachisRight blog:

John Boehner to halt Fast and Furious investigation, sell out to Eric Holder and White House

But a quick search of the internet I discovered this:

Is Boehner covering for Holder in “Murdergate?”

Bob Owens says he contacted Michael Steel (Boehner's spokesman) and got a canned, non-committal, non-answer answer. I also found this on Ben Barrack:

Tancredo thinks Boehner is shutting down Fast and Furious Investigation

Ben Barrack received a denial back from Issa's office when he questioned them on it:
***UPDATE*** After sending the Tancredo column to Issa's Press Secretary and asking for a response, I received the following reply:

From: "Watkins, Becca"
To: "'benbarrack@yahoo.com'"
Cc: "Hill, Frederick"

Ben,

Please use this on the record from me:
Leadership has been, and continues to be, supportive of oversight's investigation into operation fast and furious. There is no substance to these rumors.

I've cced me colleague above in case he has something to add.
I suspect that Issa doesn't want to ruffle Boehner's feathers so he will not complain and he won't confirm Boehner's culpability.

I guess there really aren't any men left in Congress, just a bunch of self-seeking, butt covering, politicians.
