WASHINGTON, Feb. 12, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The prayer vigil and public witness, will take place on Thursday, February 16, at 11:00 A.M.

It will be on the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW side.

The name of the event is called, "A Time to Stand."

"A Time to Stand" is in response to President Obama mandating religious institutions coverage of abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception in their health plans.

"A Time to Stand" agrees with United States Catholic Conference of Bishops when they state:

"We note today's proposal (by the President) continues to involve needless government intrusion in the internal governances of religious institutions, and to threaten government coercion of religious people and groups to violate their most deeply held convictions.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, says this about the planned arrests at the White House;

"The Obama Administration has attacked ideals, principles, and protections for which Americans have fought and died for. Therefore, the reaction is not only in the press, in the courts, and in the Congress. It is, should be, and will be in the streets. Civil disobedience must be a part of the response."

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, adds;

"The faith community can never be silent or indifferent when it comes to matters of justice, human rights and religious liberty. We want to make it clear to President Obama and all public officials that we would rather spend time in a dark prison cell than be coerced into complying with an immoral and unjust government mandate.

"We will be peaceful. We will be humble. We will be prayerful. But, we will stand!"

Prayer can be a very powerful weapon, and one we’ve neglected for a while.

If obama’s god can help him, and he surely is, I sure want my God, the real God of the Universe, invited to the war.

BTW, He has an excellent track record against bad guys.....

Jack Lew, Obama's current chief of staff ~ was just on Wallace. He says they are not going to change.

He's citing the authority of some organization with Catholic in its name ~ definitely not the sort of thing to bring around the Baptists I am sure (they oppose the abortificiants)

This particular character looks to be part of the hard core of the former Kennedy establishment based in Massachusetts.

You remember them, right? Joe Kennedy was part of it ~ his daughter talked back to him so he had her lobotomized.

These people are not nice. This Jack Lew is obviously a hard hearted Fascist Pig. Anyone know what his priors are in regard to spousal abuse? Gotta' be something.

I detest this kind of assembly. It accomplishes nothing, and is done so frequently by leftists who know full well that they will be arrested then released in an hour with no penalty, that it is little more than an exercise in cynicism.

It is not a form of protest to be used when you are part of a very powerful political bloc, you have substantial political backing, your membership fired up, etc.

Good heavens, is this a powerful bloc. Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical. The amount of political pressure they can directly bring to bear is staggering.

So start doing a headcount of congress right now, and after the next election when there will almost certainly be a Republican senate.

There should be a very strict bill that doesn’t just kill this dead, but puts nails in its coffin, and lets the judiciary know that they had better not even think about supporting this crap, or worse, legislating it from the bench themselves.

Dare I say it, “Put the fear of God in these people.”

I think I might take a ride up ther for that demonstration, but I have no ntention of being arrested.

The people who appear to be running this thing are going to ruin their crowd if they speak of being arrested.Most of the people who would like to show Obama their feelings are like myself, they aren’t professional jailbirds like the Occupy scum.

I am 69 years old and so far have ener seen the wrong side of a jail cell and am not going to volunteer for it in DC of all places. I know what the DC jail is.

Time out for a moment of silence for poor Rosemary Kennedy, who was lobotomized and parked in a Wisconsin convent for the last sixty years of her life.

From the days of “Camelot” until Mama Rose finally croaked, the public was told that Rosemary had been retarded. As is now known, she was not retarded, but rebellious. For which the clan exacted a horrible price.

Wish this dreadful family would finally die out like the Bourbons.

Anyway, pray for those peaceful protestors in front of the WH.

Why don’t they just go live in a WDC park for several months, throw bricks at the police and crap on police cars? That way they wouldn’t get arrested. I believe there is some precedent.
