Female Passengers Say They’re Targeted By TSA
dfw,cbslocal,com ^ | 2-3-12 | Ginger Allen

Posted on 02/14/2012 11:13:31 AM PST by rawhide

A Dallas woman says TSA agents repeatedly asked her to step back into a body scanning machine at DFW International Airport. “I feel like I was totally exposed,” said Ellen Terrell, who is a wife and mother. “They wanted a nice good look.”

When Ellen Terrell and her husband, Charlie, flew out of DFW Airport several months ago, Terrell says she was surprised by a question a female TSA agent asked her. “She says to me, ‘Do you play tennis?’ And I said, ‘Why?’ She said, ‘You just have such a cute figure.’”

Terrell says she walked into the body scanner which creates an image that a TSA agent in another room reviews. Terrell says she tried to leave, but the female agent stopped her. “She says, ‘Wait, we didn’t get it,’” recalls Terrell, who claims the TSA agent sent her back a second time and even a third. But that wasn’t good enough.

After the third time, Terrell says even the agent seemed frustrated with her co-workers in the other room. “She’s talking into her microphone and she says, ‘Guys, it is not blurry, I’m letting her go. Come on out.’”

Ellen and Charlie Terrell are convinced that the extra screenings were unnecessary, possibly even voyeuristic.

There is no situation in which someone who sees you naked professionally should be saying you look "cute", especially a woman's figure. "Your outfit is cute" is entirely acceptable, but this sounds exactly like far too many of the TSA people I've dealt with. BTW, I have traveled with a very cute woman, and she gets the same treatment and the same extra scans. This invasion of privacy is not worth the "reduced" risk of terrorism, not when the actual benefit is negligible.

I’m willing to bet that there is a TSA agent writing a ‘tell-all’ book about what goes on behind the scenes at the TSA.

To think that some dude is *really* enjoying his job looking at some of these screenings wouldn’t seem a stretch. To think that there’s been instances of TSA agents playing games with passengers would seem likely.

First of all, this stuff is against the constitution.

Second, women should be viewing women and men viewing men.

Third, I’ve stopped flying. There’s no place or person I want to see that’s not within driving distance.

I am fully aware of the reality that some people have to fly in conjunction with their employment. But I ask of the others: is it really worth it to feed the monster which is the TSA which is the federal government by flying voluntarily?

The airlines are obviously not fighting the system. It’s up to the passengers.

Likely thought. But you have to remember --- there are no TSA agents with the literary skills, education, or wherewithall to actually write at book. They are oppressive morons with a chip on their shoulder. Nothing more than goons that implement Janet Lesbo's will.....

IIRC, the newer scanners do not show your actual body, just a generic body with any suspicious areas highlighted.

In my book, the most despicable Americans, yes even the non-english speaking ones with a wet-ink green card are:

1. TSA Employees
2. Congressmen/women with more than three Terms
3. Senators of any term length
4. Personal Injury Lawyers
5. Disability Insurance Lawyers....

Of Course, Obama/Biden/Pelosi are at the very tip top of the list, but that’s a given.

This was a woman TSA agent saying this to a woman.

Maybe I should not fly because I would have asked for a supervisor right then.

Nor would I have consented to get radiated 3 times.
The indignity of the grope at least does not potentially cause cell damage.

That what "reassignment" is all about. They've already determined you have the qualities to be a federal employee. They just have to find a venue that utilizes one's true talents.

Here is the story from the link on Drudge:

The incident occurred at DFW International Airport earlier this month. Wife and mother Ellen Terrell was asked by a female TSA screener “Do you play tennis?” When Terrell asked why, the screener responded, “You just have such a cute figure.”

Terrell was then told to go through the naked body scanner not once but a second time. She then heard the TSA screener talking into her microphone saying, “Come on guys, alright, alright, one more time.”

After Terrell was forced to undergo a third blast of radiation from the body scanner, the male TSA agents in the back room who were obviously enjoying the show tried to send her through yet again to see more images of her naked body.

“Guys, it is not blurry, I’m letting her go. Come on out,” the female TSA screener said, finally ending the ordeal.

“I feel like I was totally exposed,” Terrell told CBS 11. “They wanted a nice good look.”

At the news conference, the TSA announced that DFW and Love Field airports now have all-new scanning machines. The updated technology shows a only a generic-body outline which highlights potential threats.

Does not explain then what the guys were ogling? Is the TSA lying and the old machines are still being used?

Can you say harassment and shakedowns? We have a bunch of rapists at the TSA running about.

With a system like this without accountability and balance of power, our TSA is becoming as perverted and friendly with Islamic terror and rape.

Every time my wife has gotten the “pat down” she says she feels her boobs have been groped.

I'm not saying your wife is part of this crowd so don't take it this way but if the TSA agent is a super hot male women enjoy it while if the agent is an ugly male it's a affront to their constitutional rights.

There was a hilarious sexual harrasment scene about this subject on SNL some years back.

My wife asked for the pat-down at Austin, Texas, last week. The agent told her to step thru the scanner. My wife is under-going chemo treatments and does not want exposure to scanners. There was a lot of back-and-forth comments with the agent, who assured my wife there is no radiation (yeah, sure). Finally, my wife points to a sign that says you have a choice to opt out of the scanner. She said, it’s my choice, isn’t it. She finally got the pat-down. Damn nazi TSA.

I concur - the "generic body image" is merely a veneer that was designed to quell the objections. The scanners can still see everything they could before (and probably more), and there's probably a function key or some memory review system that can call up the actual, unmodified images.

I know conclusively, but I’m not trying to convince you.

The airport in question would not have the newer equipment anyway, so it’s a moot point in this case.

People all over America were safer this past Thursday when a TSA guy reached into my pocket after I walked through the magnetometer and pulled out a cheap plastic mechanical pencil out of my shirt pocket. He examined it for five to seven seconds, handed it back to me and told me I was free to continue on to my plane.
