I agree with you 100%. When my kids were in school it wasn’t like it is now. There is no way I would let them attend the indoctrination camps. Mine sang CHRISTMAS carols, said the Lord’s prayer, did all the things we used to do. It began to change when my youngest was in high school but we lived in a small town, small school and weren’t really affected. The teachers had a lot of leeway and most of them were Republicans. One history teacher was a liberal and said some things I didn’t like so I told them, change his teacher or he won’t be taking that class and they did.

Nowadays, no way in hell would I let them attend a public school. The NEA needs to be abolished and the power handed back to the states. You don’t like the rules in one state, easier to change them and you can also move to a more friendly one. The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in school curricula. The DEA was created as a political payoff to the teachers unions by Jimmy the peanut farmer Carter in return for their endorsement.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, DE’s original budget, in 1980, was $13.1 billion, and it employed 450 people. By 2000, it had increased to $34.1 billion, and by 2007 it had more than doubled to $73 billion. The budget request for fiscal 2011 was $77.8 billion, and the department employs 4,800. Bureaucrats have created reams of paperwork for teachers and administrators, pushed dubious curricula, and adopted a ridiculous amount of extra-educational missions. Their website lists hundreds of programs that bear little to no relation to schooling.

The DEA is cesspool of waste....GET RID OF IT, and LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE! They are there to LEARN, not to be indoctrinated by union members.

Fund for the Improvement of Education
Program budget authority request
2011- 12.0 Billion
2012- 40.8 Billion
2013- 36.3 Billion

I hate headline writers...It was NOT a FEDERAL agent inspecting lunches.

We didn’t have school lunches in the 50’s. We walked home for lunch

You're absolutely right! We walked to school, home for lunch, back to school and home again at the end of the day. Like you, I lived 6 blocks from school and had to cross a main road - 4 times each school day. We were 2 blocks shy of the school bus route.

When my kids were small, the “experts” said that for pre-school age kids, you need to look at their nutrition over the course of an entire week, not just what they ate at any given meal. They go on one jag, and then another, depending on what they need. Expecting lunch to be a “square meal” every day is going to result in a lot of wasted food, especially if there is not an adult supervising, as at a family dinner table.

Looks the indoctrination centers are working as planned.

How many parents other than the ones this happened to said a word? I would bet not a single one.

Either parents tell these assholes to go away or they will continue to do what THEY want.

This is a time in history when we as parents must take a stand and work against this socialist/communist/marxist government in OUR White House. It will call for sacrifice and hard work.

Take your child out of the public school system...home school them or send them to a religious affiliated school, checking beforehand to make sure that the school meets your standards. Let NO government tell you as parents what you can and cannot do with your children. This is so reminiscent of Hitler and Germany....stop this insanity NOW, everyone, or we as a country will wind up like so many of Hitler's victims. We must not forget Stalin or Mao...they were killers all.

A GREAT IDEA! PLEASE, EVERYONE, READ POST #47. This is something we as parents CAN DO to remove these fascist pigs from our schools.

Let us get off our duffs and get to work...work against this evil in the White House...let’s get out there and work for the good of our children...remember what the Hitler Youth was all about and how it operated....and STOP this attempted overthrow of our country NOW.

My wife said she would pack her kids’ lunches (if this had happened to us) and sit WITH them in the cafeteria during lunch while they ate it and DEFY any union teacher or “state employee” to come anywhere NEAR them. Moochelle, aka “Wide Load”, and the teachers’ union idiots have gone over the edge.

If that had happened to one of my kids, I would send the bill back to the school, told them to pay for it, told them to stay out of my kid's lunch, that they were infringing my constitutional rights, and thumb my nose at them.

This is getting ridiculous. Obama and his nazi wife need to be forcibly ejected from the WH now!

When I was in elementary school, there was no cafeteria at school. I walked home for lunch each day and then back to school for the afternoon. They’d have a fit over what I ate for lunch. I alternated between a big plate of home fried potatoes or Lipton chicken noodle soup . . . that’s it. . . every day of the school week. I still crave both on occasion.

I also remember watching the Price is Right while eating it.

Me too, We do not have a kid in school now but I would have been very specific of what they could do, but most likely even if I had a young-in they would be home schooled now.

Not that Obama is not a large part of the problem, by far he is not the only part they are many we know better out there pushing this tripe. They ALL need to get the Hell out of other peoples business. No one likes a busy body and they may just find that out very soon the hard way. People are not going to take this much longer, just hope they do it smartly and not violently.

The real motive behind the food police is that federal $ to public schools is based on the number of HOT LUNCHES served—not bag lunches...

It just occurred to me; think the DofA will be regulating backyard BBQ’s next?!

Actually, the EPA's already been trying to regulate backyard grills and lawnmowers on "air pollution" grounds.

Pre-schoolers, heck! I eat that way at a ripe half-century of age. I'll go for days wanting nothing but protein and carbs, then go on a veggie binge for several days.
