In an interview with Atlanta's local Fox affiliate WAGA-TV Preisdent Obama explains why he was unable to cut the deficit in half in his first term, a promise he made as a candidate.
Obama was lobbed the question by a sympathetic reporter who said Obama is getting "pelted in the media" for making a campaign promise he did not keep.
"Well we're not there because this recession turned out to be a lot deeper than any of else realized," Obama said about his inability to cut the deficit in half.

Second, to cut the deficit in half does not require a perfect economy, it requires a veto pen.
Third, since the Liberal Media gets to ask Conservative questions all the time, why doesn't Obama allow the Conservative Media ask him questions?

I'm sure throwing bucket loads of cash around didn't help much with that deficit. Increasing government spending during a recession has got to be one of the most stupid plans imaginable for getting the economy going.
When will politicians ever learn that the government cannot prevent the business cycle from cycling? So they'll quit trying to control the economy?

This putz ran for President Claiming that George Bush Ran the Country into a Ditch.He proclaimed at a Town hall Meeting that what Bush was Doing was Irresponsible,putting our Grand Children in Debt to China by increasing our debt,this has to be stopped. So what did HE do? He has out spent and increased the debt more in 3 years than Bush did in 8 years! Then he has the Balls to stand up in front of the American People and say it was worse than he thought and not ONE question on When Mr. President did you realize it was worse than you thought? Before or after you have added another 5 TRIILION DOLLARS of debt? So Mr. President did George Bush drive us into a Ditch by spending too much money or not enough? Please explain so we can figure out what it is you are trying to do,Fix the economy by Bankrupting the Country,or save it by Bankrupting the Country,and oh yeah what was it again that Bush did,drive us into a Ditch?

The real problem is the people who believe this sh## thrown at them because they watch 2 minute news on a state run station and believe it as fact because thier to busy to look any further.
If as a presidential candidate you have chosen advisers who misunderstand the economy so badly that you misjudge the depth of the recession, then you should be disqualified from the presidency because of your poor job picks and poor judgment.

It’s depressing that this certified lying POS can say anything, no matter how outlandish or false, and the media just yawns and moves on as if it’s no big deal. Again, if this were a Republican President and the economy was this bad, the press would have buried him under an avalanche of accusations, name-callings and mud slinging.

Well, a lot of us did understand how thing would be under this administration. It's why we swallowed hard and pulled the lever for McCain, despite our justified reservations.
