Obama campaign asks Pennsylvanians to expose Santorum’s ‘true colors’

The Obama campaign is hoping to use its network of supporters in Pennsylvania to collect dirt on Rick Santorum, whose surging candidacy has upended the Republican presidential race.

The campaign sent an e-mail asking Obama’s Keystone State supporters to submit their most damning “recollections” of Santorum, who served as a congressman and a senator from Pennsylvania for 16 years before losing reelection in 2006.

Santorum became a favorite target of liberals with his passionate statements against homosexuality and abortion, but despite his deeply conservative take on social issues, he has shown some ability to connect with blue-collar voters in the GOP presidential race — voters who have been a hard sell for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and could be crucial in a general election.

“Folks across the country are just starting to learn about Rick Santorum as he enjoys his newfound wave of popularity,” says the note, which was signed by Bill Hyers, Pennsylvania state director for Obama for America. “But people here have known him for some time. . . . And it’s on us to make sure the rest of the country sees Rick Santorum’s true colors.” ....

Obama campaign officials have not yet disclosed what they will do with the collected comments, but it is part of the campaign’s national “Truth Team” effort, which uses its network of grass-roots supporters to help highlight the president’s accomplishments, defend him against attacks and spotlight controversial or hypocritical comments made by his Republican opponents. On Thursday, the campaign announced the creation of a Pennsylvania-specific “Truth Team.”

I am a Pennsylvanian and I will do everything in my power to assist Rick Santorum in defeating Obama.
Obama is destroying America and must not be given more time to accomplish the task............

I am no Santorum fan, but his true colors couldn’t be worse than Obama’s politically speaking.

Why go through the trouble of emailing supporters in PA? They could just come to Free Republic where some folks may not have any recollections of Santorum, but feel free to make up convenient facts as they see fit?

If Mitt Romney is the candidate that can defeat Obama, why is Obama’s campaign going after Santorum instead of Romney?

The sleaze gap between conservatives and liberals gets wider every day. I marveled at how liberals all smeared Dubya as a fascist for wanting to wiretap terrorists, when all the while the real deal was striding boldly forth from the left. These people are totalitarian to the core.

Just to decimate the entire GOP field.
Cause a lot of infighting.

IMHO

Obviously Santorum scares him if he is going to the trouble.

Bacrock Obama doesn’t even have to ask. He’s got six or several jagoffs here all ready to spam everything.

“I am no Santorum fan, but his true colors couldn’t be worse than Obama’s politically speaking.

I think Santorum should start a “European-Americans for Santorum” campaign to counter the African-Americans for Obama” campaign that obama has started-—or would it be racist to show husseins “true colors”?

I am damn glad we shunned Europe’s feudal system.
I will be even happier when African Americans shun their love of the cacophony of ideas in Africa.

A “truth squad” composed of Obama supporters. These guys are good. They will discover the “truth,” then on the behalf of Obama, disclose it. Unbelievable.

This is like a rat, looking for dirt on a cat. Where by law, no rat can be left behind. But the govt can’t save the rat from the cat. Since the cat doesn’t play by any rules created by the rat. The cat will play with the rat for a while, til it bores of the game. Then the cat, will eat the rat, at will, any where, anytime, it so desires.

I’m not sure I grasp all that.
I think, though, that Obama supporters idea of what constitutes “bad” is such that they may actually increase the number of people with a 180 degree different definition to see more good in Santorum than they had previously.

Who knows?

EDITED: Obama campaign asks Freepers to expose Santorum’s ‘true colors’

Well everyone knows where to look for the truth! Santorum of course will be vetted right here on FR as with all candidates.....However, if one listens and pays attention to Santorum he'll show his true colors as he always does and people see the "true" Rick....not the picture he's trying to project.
