Israel does not belong to NATO.

It is not allowed for NATO members to share intel with non-NATO members.

Where’s the story here?

As far as NATO membership, Turkey has been a member since 1952, the 13th out of 28 members to join. Turkey joined 3 years before Germany and sent many troops to die next to and supporting our troops in Korea. Anyone remember the Cold War, Warsaw Pact?

Next to Israel, they are the best friend we have in the Middle East.

The Republic or Turkey was our ally in the Middle East. Since teh election of the Islamist AKP, they have been led by our enemies.

We do have a Memoradum of Understanding with Israel. The Strategic Cooperation Agreement was concluded on November 30, 1981 between the United States and Israel during the first Reagan administration and coincided with an official visit of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir. The agreement was signed by Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon and American Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger and pledged specific actions from both parties to increase strategic cooperation between them.

Turkey has been siding with Iran in numerous issues. In June 2009, Turkish President Abdullah Gul called Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to congratulate him on his re-election and wished Iran continued success. In March 2009, Iran and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing to cooperate in air, land, and sea transportation as part of an effort to raise the two countries’ bilateral trade to $20 billion.
