The United States has not gotten to the level of Nazi Germany yet, but we do have a socialist president and back in 2009 the cover of Newsweek boldly proclaimed that "We Are All Socialists Now".

No we're not... yet. Right now we have 2 economies: the real economy and the Obama economy.

Under Clinton (in the US) and Blair (in the Britain) they used to call it "The 3rd Way". The idea was to have a little bit of Socialism, but not so much as to kill the Golden Goose (the real economy).

Now with Obama, the brakes are off and it's "to heck with the real economy". Obama's taxing & borrowing at such levels that there's no oxygen in the room for real businesses. The only ones that appear to be thriving are larger business and the "green" startups that are benefiting from political connections to the regime.

The Game can't go on for much longer. What comes after Obama is bound to be even worse.

Good article but these same 25 things can also desribe life in the former Soviet Union. There was no difference between the Nazis and the Soviets. They just had different buzz words.

I prefer ‘Corporatism’ which is more accurate.

A couple of weeks ago, was having a discussion with a non political type of person. Subject got around to gun control. When I and someone else pointed out how wrong it was his response was why do you need so many guns and why not let the government know how many guns you have. I said that was the wrong questions to ask. Why is it the governments or anyones business to know how many guns I have. And what does it matter to anyone else why I like to own many guns? He tried to make out that I was a nut for fearing the government and gun registration. I pointed out Britian and Australia as examples of governments who went from gun registration to gun confiscation. People are brainwashed by the mainstream media’s reporting of the issues. Regular people have become to accepting of the government needing to know everything about us. It’s for “our safety”...

We live in a police state. Surveillance is constant. We were the proverbial frog in the boiling water. The TSA, the Patriot Act, the heavily armed police agencies that are really paramilitary units, the bloated and wasteful federal police forces on our borders that sit around and do nothing all have to go. If CBP were actually protecting the border they might be useful, but all they do is harass American citizens and trample our rights.

First President to take a 17 day vacation.

this argument never works for me because National Socialism was always as much Nationalism and exaggerated traditional culture as it was govt influence in private sector

Obama’s vision...and the left’s is anti nationalistic and anti traditional culture and even less private enterprise oriented

Marxism is still the paradigm for them though heavily laced with political correctness and a resentment of founding ideal and race and religion

If you are speaking about the US Military... they are going to have massive problems with about 70% of “their” Military... if it comes to that. Americans want Liberty no less than the Russians did... and when ordered to open fire on their own... the tanks turned their turrets towards the politburo. Americans will do the same.
