It Couldn’t Happen In America
Watching a documentary about the rise of the Third Reich.
One man assuming such power.
The systematic elimination of all who opposed him.
Guns were outlawed. They were unnecessary.
Churches were abolished. They were unnecessary.
Liberty? The State has all the liberty the people should require.
A nation of adoring citizens, in whose eyes, he was a savior.
A nation, a political power, a political party under his absolute control.
Newspapers, schools, industry, all doing his bidding.
Journalists praised him in print.
Artists glorified him.
Songs were sung by schoolchildren in praise of him.
Religion? The Church of State.
Government will care for you.
Government will see to your needs.
All power, consolidated,
in the hands of one man.
An entire nation utterly dominated.
It could never happen in America,
could it?
We have the Constitution!
We have the Bill of Rights!
Separation of power.
We are intelligent. Well-educated.
We have free speech. A free press.
We have the right to vote.
And the schoolchildren sang:
He’s going to bring happiness!
He’s going to bring freedom!
Obama’s going to change the world!
Americans want Liberty at any cost.

Pal, you’re not talking to a ‘’Creationist, ok? Nor are you talking to someone who is ‘’anti-science. Einstein believed in God. So do I. I believe God created the universe. Prove otherwise.
Adolph Hitler was a semi-literate guttersnipe with a big mouth and a talent for attracting crowds. He was not an educated man nor was he a religious one. He had no more use for higher learning than he did for Christianity.
