Theoretical question here, asked sincerely (in light of your comment:

If Santorum were to win Arizona and Michigan (by that I mean win the majority of delegates), become a clear frontrunner, then go on to win other states and eventually craft enough delegates to win the GOP nomination, would you support and vote for him, or would you support President Obama?

How sad for the voters..this is the last debate. A way to silence Newt with the voters. Santorum is not ready for prime time and came across as very weak.

Let's hope Newt wins Tenn and Georgia and more on super tues

That’s the point I keep trying to make, but to no avail (which is no surprise, really). He will get completely trounced by the liar-in-chief, regardless if he’s saying all the right things. That “go along to get along” is going to haunt him right off the campaign.

Newt won't give it away.. HE will take it away... RICK will not do a damn thing.. he is one of them.. Newt is not.. which is why the dems tried so hard and succeeded in getting him to resign...If you think Newt will cave on Obamacare.. you are being misled! RIck is the only one that will succumb to the GOP-E and not repeal Obamacare!!!!

The flavor of the day is not necessarily the best candidate!

Okay, please stop repeating the local PA dem talking points about this issue. Rick Santorum OWNED A HOME AND PAYED LOCAL PROPERTY TAXES in that school district.

Yes and what would his seven children have cost the public schools to educate. It's not free despite the rumors, there's a high cost per student. So what Santorum got to educate his kids was offset by what he saved the public school.

This Santorum supporter has come home to Newt.

You're not alone...I know others who are as well because people are seeing just how weak Santorum is in a debate. Although he picked it up in the second half...he floundered terrible in the first.......As always Newt's firm grasp on every issue shines thru and he can elaborate with full confidence in what he' articulating to the audiance.

BTW...Welcome home! Go Newt Go!!!!!

Frum and Erickson think Santorum was nervous and Romney won the battle between them. Erickson thinks Newt shined brighter by staying above it all. Brazile was back saying Republicans don't understand the women's movement and the issue isn't religious freedom but reproductive health. Ari Fleischer said that issue will depend on your viewpoint and independents are made up of people from both views.

Gov. Brewer isn't endorsing tonight. Says they're all fabulous candidates. She liked what Newt said about working with the states but cautioned any of the candidates might do the same.

Haven't read the comments on the thread. Been on Twitter. No question about it as far as twitter was concerned, Newt won hands down. Seems talking heads on TV are leaning that way too, as they also push for Romney. I think the back and forth between Romney and Santorum was good. It showed the country that NEITHER one is the right person for the presidency. Overall, excellent debate.

Can't imagine anyone that listens to this brilliant man that has a record of so many great accomplishments would pick any other candidate. Newt is our true hope and knows how to get it done.

Newt is the one. I don't understand why people can't see this. He will get things done, especially if Sarah or Perry is VP. The cabinet will be loaded: Bolton, Levin, so many good people. Pray for America. . .

Newt give Obamacare away by supporting the individual mandate for twenty years. It’s really that simple. All Obama has to say is, “You supported it Newt. Why is it wrong now?”

Loved that Brewer mentioned only Newt by name.

BTW, did any one else notice the intense look on Rick Perry's face tonigh as Newt was answering the border question? He definitely turned me around in how I thought about him.

Also, Newt was just down here in San Diego and you know he had to have visited the border crossing at San Ysidro (which is about 40 mles from me). I completely agree with Newt on his border ideas!

I was excited when Gov Brewer said she liked Newt on the borders. Pray she endorses him. I have been going all over facebook on several tea party sites and there is a slew of very staunch Newt supporters. They are anti Romney and Santorum. It amazes me but I have been battling all over the internet for Newt ..twitter, FB, news blogs...lol and sometimes I am not quite the lady I should be but I am fighting until the end! YOU have done a great job in your posts and in your support for Newt. Let's roll Rita!

——I realize it is politics and “ain’t beanball”, fine, but they can be so petty and shallow (I wonder if even some of them are of age), I still believe it is bound up in the safety of being able to project in cyberspace and hide behind one’s keyboard anonymity, and talk as big as General Douglas MacArthur.-——

Yeah. Anyway, Newt did the best, although it’s probably too late for him. Conservatives have already aligned behind Santorum. Rick held up well under duress, but didn’t land any punches. I thought his defense of his support of Spector was pretty good, and may sway some voters.

The bad news is that Romney did very well. He was well rehearsed, and at times had me forgetting that he’s a phoney. I don’t know if the stacked audience worked for him, or backfired.
