Obama is helping create an Islamic caliphate in North Africa and the mid-east.

At every turn he has taken the side of the so-called Arab Spring revolters who are fundamental islamics, like the Muslim Borhterhood in Egypt, and the Al Quida derivitives in Libya.

He did not lift a hand to help the true freedom fighters in Iran, rather he wanted to negotiate with the Iranian dictator while the protesters were slaughtered.

This is what he is giving us:

Sure. I see your point. But do piracy and terrorism deserve such treatment? If a nuclear attack was inititated against us, yes; I could see reducing a nation to rubble.

I seriously believe that neither Somalia nor Afghanistan have been dealt with properly. Quick, devastating strikes that hurt the populations shielding the pirates/terrorists seems a far more effective and personal means of getting our message of “cease and desist” protecting the criminal element, or your people will suffer greater consequences.

I do not consider 9-11 to have been a minor event. I’m old enough to remember the warnings back in the early 1970s that eventually a devastating terrorist attack would happen on our shores. But I know perceive the attack to be against Western Civilization and not just against the U.S.

Islamic Civilization has been an abject failure compared to the west. It depresses many Muslims, and their first impulse is to destroy us rather than learn how we achieved so much in a short period of time. The ME has been called, by historian, the graveyard of empires. The people who inhabit that region must change and is will have to come from within. I think we should just contain the insanity and no longer do business with the region.

Five hundred years ago the two existing Global Powers were the Ottoman Empire and China’s Ming Dynasty. If someone had spread the belief that in the future millions of people would know and live in unimaginable wealth generated by great industries in what was then a rustic Europe and a wilderness in North America, that someone would have been declared insane.

The Muslims seem headed on a self-destructive trajectory while the Chinese are headed out to space, a bold move, as that nation doesn’t have a history of settling and civilizing frontiers. We do.

I’m not comfortable dealing closely with nations of the ME but China is different. We should look towards building closer commercial relations with China for our mutual benefits. They are intending to weaponize near space. We should work towards creating a relationship where that isn’t necessary.

Piracy is not a unified system but needs to be dealt with mercilessly wherever we found it. it’s how our forefathers irradicated it. people engaging in it new if they were caught they would be hanged.

Radical Islam is a cohesive, large, world-wide effort that has been at war with us for decades. We can defeat them and those supporting them in the same way we did Nazi Germay and Imperial Japan if we have the will to do so. There are many parallesl in the fanaticism and the supportt they receive.

I believe until we have the will to do so, we will never win a complete victory but forever will be bled by their terror attacks.

I do not want to wait until they set of a nuc in a US city to do what so patently has to be done IMHO.

Burning a book justifies burning a people.

Jeff Head didn’t say that. He said that if we are going to wage war, then let’s damn sure have an unconditional surrender war in the tradition of Eisenhower and MacArthur.

The time for that has come and gone though. This should have been conducted as an all-out reprisal as suggested by Jeff, and the we should have promised to return if they got out of line again.

I didn’t say Jeff Head said that.

That is what the Islamists are saying in Afghanistan.

Sort of the topic of the thread, actually.

The strange thing about this whole situation is that the prisoners desecrated the koran by writing in them (they changed the contents, which I believe is forbidden by a muslim). I don’t believe they would be considered holy, because of this. The burning would be just to dispose of the desecrated korans.

There is no ‘winning once and for all’ against these dirt people. They’ll just crawl back under a rock until we’ve left. That’s what roaches do.

It’s time to GTHO of stupid Afghanistan and stop asking our troops to die for these useless dirtbag Muslim Afghanis. We’ve accomplished all that is possible to accomplish.

I say we skip a few steps and just burn Afghanistan until no stone stands upon another.

There are no living 'good Islamics,' nor can there ever be. Islam by its very nature is antithetical to everything that we here in the West hold dear. They mean to subjugate us and reduce us to dhimmitude. And kill all those who resist.

Islam literally lays waste to every part of the earth it inhabits. Andrew Bostum in his work The Legacy of Jihad: Islamic Holy War and the Fate of Non-Muslims

Then there's a Quigley's characterization of what he called The Pakistani-Peruvian axis. It's a stunningly accurate exposition of why Islamic culture as such is so corrupt and nihilistic.

We can never make peace with such a dark side of humanity. The only lasting peace with Islam we'll ever see is when Allah is worshiped only in hell.

Thats how we defeated the Nazis and the Imperialists and we have had good Germans and good Japanese ever since.

It's amazing what a good "Cleansing by fire" will do.
