Who will ride a lucky airstream to Victory Lane on Sunday?
Will the field get Smoke'd again?

Glad this race went prime time...there’s no watching or listening to races at werk. (I can’t pick up a radio station that carries the race.)
sounds like a 730 pm start time,,
30% of some piddling sutff passing thru during the race.
No competition caution tonight.

That 730 start time came out of the mouth of the cute blonde Danielle over at SPeed.. I’m sure she meant well.. (I could use extra time for a beer run)
The first 5 laps will in interesting. Motors and sets ups for afternoon racing.
7:01 p.m. ET — Leonard Wood gives the command to fire engines, as Eddile, Jon and Jordan Wood look on.
6:54 p.m. ET — Melisa Tenbroeck, also from Daytona, sings the national anthem.
6:53 p.m. ET — Pastor Sonny Gallman of Central Baptist Church in Daytona is giving the invocation.
6:35 p.m. ET — I’m a darkhorse kind of guy, so my pick for tonight’s winner of the Daytona 500 is Regan Smith. Or Michael McDowell. Seriously.
6:23 p.m. ET — Drivers are now being asked to report to their cars at 6:45 p.m. Get ready to have at it!
6:21 p.m. ET — The invocation and national anthem are slated to start in a little more than 30 minutes.
6:09 p.m. ET — Holy cow! What is that over the track? Blue sky! Yes!
5:54 p.m. ET — Cars will be brought to pit road from the garage at 6 p.m., with drivers to report 30 minutes later. Let’s do this thing!
5:47 p.m. ET — Clouds are breaking up over Daytona!

10:21 a.m. ET — In order to wait out the weather that’s around Daytona at the moment, the decision has been made to move the green flag until 7 p.m. Night racing, baby!

next rain line looks about 40 miles out
Stands look pert full...
Getting ready for ‘em to take off. They may keep me up past my bedtime tonight. I already warned my other half that he might be on his own tonight and in the morning.
The stands do look pretty full. I’m surprised. But, a cousin who lives over in that area works at Applebees and told me folks were giving away tickets in there last night.
was that a so-long for danica????
Wow,, crash lap 2 Ouchie..
48 took a good lick
holy jumpin lugnuts 2 laps and bam bam bam
a couple close calls for Danica.. she stomped on the brakes as hard as she could and then threaded a needle between two other cars down the track.. nice driving.
Lap 2 — YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Wow. Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrck, Kurt Busch and others are involved in a crash going into Turn1. The wreck was triggered when Elliott Sadler shoved Johnson coming out of the trioval.
Lap 1 — GREEN FLAG: At long last, the race gets under way at 7:14 p.m. ET. The first few rows remain door to door through Turns 1 and 2. Jamie McMurray is off the pace, looking for a partner. Greg Biffle clears for the lead.
Looks like that rear end extension has some unintended
How many running JJ?
sidepush is as bad as a push in the left bumper, aero bites again..
these cars are real sensitive for tanks..
Lap 3 — David Ragan and Trevor Bayne were also swept up into the accident.
we been worried about rain but a major boom boom 2 laps in means time this is close to a checkered flag, snow may be a concern
WARNING: Web content unrated
Tork may have JJ..
That hurt a lot of teams.. and so early in the race.. this race could be a 5 hour race at this pace..
What is this, a demolition derby? Cars are too crash-y.
Eat your peas
LOL - Junior needs to pay attention to driving and win this thing no matter what Elliott or anybody else does.
way too crashy..
Sadler apologized to JJ for getting into him
Danica is in the garage with front suspension damage, losing laps
And so goes the pack racing ladies and gentlemen. Nascar claims that everyone wants it this way. I don’t see how. I didn’t like the bump and push either, but at least if a car wrecked it usually was a one or two car incident. Most likely this won’t be the last tonight. It is a shame. A lot of money and equipment on the line. I sure hope no one gets hurt.
What did JJ say? Hubby flipped the channel during commercial.
and they’re running GReen on lap 8..
Kurt Busch said what is with this 36 hours waiting to race and then wrecking on lap 1?
“sidepush is as bad as a push in the left bumper”
They did extend the rear of the car right? When I heard
about it I thought extending the fulcrum means more leverage
that not just a bump but simply being too close could cause an up draft pulling the traction off the rear tires.
He says he’s OK,, just got pushed out of shape,, the second hit hurt a little bit but he says he’s fine.
The outside lane is looking pretty good. That bodes well for good racing.
Well it was during the caution lap...he was saying that he didn’t want Sadler’s spotter to “do him any favors.”
I think these cars are way too touchy this year.
this helps Danika
