Paterno was in a job he loved---and took no chances of losing it. The word was out: If anyone dared to speak out against Spanier's perverted campus activities, their futures were at risk.....those who persisted with 'intolerant' views, could be terminated ("with extreme prejudice.")
Spanier calculatedly protected his outrageous activities, using threats and intimidation (this alone is a prosecutable crime).
When Sandusky surfaced, the evil Spanier defended his employees (not the victims)........NONE of the vaunted liberal "tolerance and compassion" was reserved for young victims of the sexual savagery.
And so it goes......what goes around, comes around. Spanier's "veil of secrecy" has been pierced. What appeared to be a Brave New World led by Spanier has morphed into a very deep cesspool----and Spanier is about to dive in head-first.
Spanier engineered a mind-numbing sexual free-for-all---but not before silencing the opposition. Imagine the hair-raising tales this perv could tell about wife-swapping, and other sexual sports, conducted on campus under his leadership?
I hope Sandusky’s “Charity” sues somebody-—b/c that would open them up to the legal process of “discovery.” Visions of fraud, embezzlement, conspiracy, racketeering, concealment, criminal civil rights violations, various felony charges against Spanier, Sandusky, and other PS perverts, are dancing in my head.
Title 18 U.S.C. §1341, Mail Fraud,
18 U.S.C.§1001, Presenting a False Document to an Agent of the US Government (involves several felonies and could include forgery);
18 U.S.C.§1027 False statements and concealment of facts in relation to documents required by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and other possible offenses including civiland/or criminal RICO violations.
18 U.S.C. §§1961-68 (RICO Act)18 U.S.C. §1001 (making false Statements to Agents of the US Government),
18 U.S.C. §241(Conspiracies Against Civil Rights).
Possibly full investigations crentering on RICO conspiracies under 18 U.S.C. §1962(c) could be warranted because (1) the persons (2) were employed by or associated with an enterprise (3) that engaged in or affected interstate commerce and that (4) the persons operated or managed the enterprise (5) through a “pattern” (6) of racketeering activity, and (7) the parents/students were injured by reason of the “pattern” of racketeering activity.
Alleged Offenses could include Violation of Title 18 U.S.C. §241 Conspiracy Against Constitutional Rights which prohibits in relevant part, two or more persons (from conspiring) to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory,Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same . . . See, 18 U.S.C. §241.
ALL OF THESE FUNDS WERE CONTROLLED BY GRAHAM SPANIER We need to determine the extent of PS’s federal, state and local government grants which emanate from an assortment of governmental entities. Besides the DOE, grants could have been issued by the EPA and DOJ for various campus projects——including monies private Foundations from a variety of private charitable organizations AND funding from more traditional sources, such as corporate and private foundations.
A full list of donors might be available from the Capital Research Center, a non-profit organization which studies advocacy groups.

That would be a little like bringing a libel suit - it generally opens up a can of worms for the person who brings it. Sadly, I don’t think the charity is that dumb. What do you think?
Yeah-—but remember “tolerant and compassionate” pervs pride themselves on their abilities to dupe people.
In their perverted minds, they think they can emerge as winners.
However, vainglorious people are usually blindsided.
When this first broke I said I was suspicious.
There was too much talk about things like a ‘sandusky special’ which was two scoops of ice cream upside down cone on top (i guess a hilarious imitation of buttocks -hee hee pedophilia is so funny)
There was a DA that was looking into this that dissappeared.
There are millions of dollars of funding being tossed around to agencies involving these people.
I would place a good size bet there was a ‘ring’ of activity with players that all knew each other and participated, and we don’t even see the entire tip of the iceburg yet.
If Sandusky threatens to spill the beans he may dissappear too.
JUST MY OPINION AND GUT FEELING - not based on anything but years and years of observations.
Yikes. If that was my wife I might want to “swap” her also. But would I have to take her back?
No question-—we’re all cynical WRT to seeing justice done here. But there’s more ways than one to skin these perverted cats. After all, they nailed AL Capone on tax evasions-—NOT on the brutal crimes he committed.
Of course, there’s a PS pedophile ring-—Spanier has connections. He’s a lightning rod for every pervert roaming the land. These predators know where the action is. The pervs need a constant supply of partners-—that’s what separates pervs from the rest of the population.
Gayders in a marriage of convenience looking for same-sex action.
I hope you’re right that the charity will get arrogant and make the wrong move.
Love this picture. Does the guy even LIKE football or just the players? I’ve gotta go to You Tube and find a clip of Spanier. My gaydar is pretty good but I’d like to hear the creep speak, lol!

A Statement from The Second Mile - 1.13.2012
As The Second Mile continues to evaluate its options for the future, the organization has decided to sell the property at 2400 Bernel Road, in Bellefonte, PA. The 60-plus acre parcel had been the designated site of The Second Mile Center for Excellence; construction on the Center began in 2011. However, in the wake of the tragic events that have come to light over the past several months, continued funding for the project is no longer available. The Second Mile cancelled the project in November of last year.
While we are saddened that the Center For Excellence will not be built, those feelings pale in comparison with the anguish we feel for the victims of the abuse reported by the Attorney General. Our primary concern is for the victims and their families and for those children we continue to serve.
We continue to seek the preservation of our key programs, which the staff and volunteers at The Second Mile have worked tirelessly to create. The sale of this property is a key step in achieving this goal. Scheduled programs which have been on-going through the end of 2011 will continue through the coming months; our Leadership Institute will be held in April 1-4, as planned.
A Statement from The Second Mile - 12.7.2011
In the wake of the tragic events that have come to light over the last several weeks, The Second Mile has lost significant financial support. Therefore, The Second Mile will implement a reduction in staff to put the organization in a better position to preserve programs. Earlier today, some Second Mile employees received notice that their employment will end over the next several months in an orderly phase-out.
We at The Second Mile are saddened by the need to make these cutbacks; however, our foremost concerns reside with the victims of the horrific abuse reported by the Attorney General and with the children we serve. We continue to seek preservation of key programs that the staff and volunteers at The Second Mile worked tirelessly to create. Scheduled programs will continue as planned.
In the meantime, The Second Mile is continuing to cooperate fully with the Attorney Generals investigation and will adhere to its legal responsibilities throughout this process.
A Statement from The Second Mile - 11.28.2011
Our focus remains on the victims. Children who suffer sexual abuse face unique and formidable challenges, as do their families. The events reported over the past few weeks have saddened and horrified us; we are determined to do all we can to help the survivors with the healing process.
Indeed, our organization is committed to supporting survivors of sexual violence throughout Pennsylvania. In that spirit, we are strongly encouraging our donors to support the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape.
The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) is the oldest anti-sexual violence coalition in the United States. PCAR works to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault; it has done so for more than 36 years. PCAR provides funding, training and support to a statewide network of 51 sexual assault centers who serve victims of all ages and the people who support them in all 67 counties of the Commonwealth. Each year, the 51 sexual assault centers in the PCAR network provide confidential services, at no charge, to more than 51,500 men, women and children affected by sexual abuse.
Effective immediately, we ask that you join us in this commitment to sexual abuse survivors by sending your donations to PCAR to support sexual abuse prevention as well as the counseling needs of sexual abuse victims. Donations can be made online at www.pcar.org. You may designate your gift to support victim services or prevention.
At the Second Mile, we are continuing to review options for the next phase of our programs. As we do so, our December programs will continue as scheduled. Just as The Second Mile is making formal reports to the appropriate officials of any child abuse allegations, we encourage all members of the public to report child abuse as well as any relevant information to the Pennsylvania Attorney Generals office, 814-863-1053, or the Pennsylvania State Police, 814-470-2238, or other appropriate authorities.
We also remind you that victim advocates and sexual assault counselors are available to assist any person who has been impacted by sexual assault, regardless of their choice to work with law enforcement.
A Statement from The Second Mile - 11.21.2011
We at the Second Mile are sorrowful and horrified about what was suffered by the victims. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the young people hurt by these terrible events, and with their families.
We are working with all our donors and supporters to determine the projected future support level. Because the focus of our organization is on the children, The Second Mile is currently exploring three options: (1) restructuring the organization and keeping its programs going, even if it means doing so at a reduced level of service and funding, (2) maintaining the programs by transferring them to other organizations or (3) not continuing. Our primary goal is to sustain the programs for the sake of the kids.
We are deeply troubled by the factual allegations in this case. Right now, we are doing everything in our power to investigate and understand what happened. As we strive to come to grips with these events, we are giving law enforcement authorities our full cooperation. Indeed, cooperating fully with investigators stands as one of our paramount duties in the coming days.
As The Second Mile moves into its next phase, we will focus on helping the successful programs provided over many years continue. The overwhelming support we have received recently increases our motivation to achieve this goal. To this end, we are working with our supporters and partners to let them have a voice in how we move forward. As we do so, the victims and their families will remain foremost in our thoughts and prayers. Ultimately, it is the children who matter.
A Statement from The Second Mile Board of Directors - 11.14.2011
Yesterday, the Board of Directors of the Second Mile (TSM) accepted the resignation of Dr. Jack Raykovitz, the CEO of The Second Mile for the past 28 years. Both Dr. Raykovitz and the Board believe this is in the best interests of the organization. David Woodle, the current Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, will now be responsible for day-to-day operations of The Second Mile.
Although the allegations against Jerry Sandusky and the alleged incidents occurred outside Second Mile programs and events, this does not change the fact that the alleged sexual abuse involved Second Mile program children, nor does it lessen the terrible impact of sexual abuse on its victims.
The Second Miles mission is to help young people particuarly those in need to achieve their potential. The safety and well-being of the children participating in our programs is central to fulfilling that mission. To that end, we made the following decisions:
We will conduct an internal investigation to assess our internal policies, procedures and processes; and make recommendations regarding the organizations future operations. We hope to have those findings by the end of December.
We have engaged as our General Counsel the firm of Archer & Greiner, including partner Lynne Abraham. Archer & Greiner succeeds Wendell Courtney, who resigned from that position last week.
In addition, we will of course continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation by the Attorney Generals office.
Over the past week the families of many participants have urged us to maintain TSMs programs, saying they continue to believe deeply in TSMs mission and the value it provides young people in our community. We remain committed to Second Mile children, teens and families.
Our continued prayers, thoughts and concerns go out to all those affected. Just as the Second Mile is making reports of any information we receive, we continue to encourage anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact investigators from the Office of Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.
Statement of Resignation from President/CEO of The Second Mile - 11.14.2011
I have submitted, and the Board has accepted, my resignation as President/CEO of The Second Mile. Providing any statement beyond that sentence takes the focus from where it should be - on the children, young adults and families who have been impacted. Their pain and their healing is the greatest priority, and my thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with them. I continue to urge anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact investigators from the Office of Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.
A mother wrote to The Second Mile this week, I am saddened by the prospect of people losing faith in this amazing organization . . ..What you have built in my child is a confidence, a sense of belonging, respect, joy in helping others, and most importantly, his self esteem . . .. I hope that my resignation brings with it the beginning of that restoration of faith in the community of volunteers and staff that, along with the children and families we serve, are The Second Mile.
A Statement from The Second Mile 11.6.2011
The newly released details and the breadth of the allegations from the Attorney Generals office bring shock, sadness and concern from The Second Mile organization. Our prayers, care and compassion go out to all impacted.
The most recent reports weve read this past weekend state that Mr. Sandusky met the alleged victims through The Second Mile. To our knowledge, all the alleged incidents occurred outside of our programs and events. However, we are encouraging anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact investigators from the Office of Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.
As The Second Miles CEO Jack Raykovitz testified to the Grand Jury, he was informed in 2002 by Pennsylvania State University Athletic Director Tim Curley that an individual had reported to Mr. Curley that he was uncomfortable about seeing Jerry Sandusky in the locker room shower with a youth. Mr. Curley also shared that the information had been internally reviewed and that there was no finding of wrongdoing. At no time was The Second Mile made aware of the very serious allegations contained in the Grand Jury report.
Subsequently, in November 2008, Mr. Sandusky informed The Second Mile that he had learned he was being investigated as a result of allegations made against him by an adolescent male in Clinton County, PA. Although he maintained there was no truth to the claims, we are an organization committed first and foremost to the safety and well-being of the children we serve. Consistent with that commitment and with The Second Mile policy, we immediately made the decision to separate him from all of our program activities involving children. Thus, from 2008 to present, Mr. Sandusky has had no involvement with Second Mile programs involving children.
The Second Mile was first contacted by the Attorney Generals office in early 2011. Since then, we have done everything in our power to cooperate with law-enforcement officials and will continue to do so.
Our highest priority always has been and will continue to be the safety and well-being of the children participating in our programs. We encourage program participants to report any allegations of abuse and/or inappropriate sexual activity wherever it has occurred, and we take any such reports directly to Child Protective Services. We have many policies and procedures designed to protect our participants, including employee and volunteer background checks, training and supervision of our activities.
The Second Mile has helped thousands of Pennsylvanias children to lead better lives, and we remain committed to that mission. Our success is a result of the trust placed in us by the families and professionals with whom we partner, and we will take any steps needed to maintain their confidence in us.
About Our Programs and Services
Second Mile Reverse Drawing Scheduled for November 11, 2011 Postponed
We thank all of you who have purchased tickets for The Second Miles Reverse Drawing. The Second Mile has helped thousands of Pennsylvanias children to lead better lives, and we thank you for your support of that mission.
That mission was in evidence as Second Mile Friend and Friend Fitness events took place at a number of locations across the Commonwealth this past weekend. We very much appreciate the continued trust placed in us by the families of all of our program participants. We remain committed to providing our programs and services to children as scheduled.
While we are providing our childrens programming as scheduled, The Second Mile has decided, out of respect and compassion for all impacted by the allegations from the Attorney Generals office, to postpone The Second Miles Reverse Drawing, which was to be held November 11, 2011. In past years, this has been a fun-filled and exciting evening, and we cannot imagine holding this event in the wake of the recent allegations, which have brought shock, sadness and concern to all associated with The Second Mile organization.
We thank you again for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the re-scheduled event. We will be in contact with you about your Reverse Drawing support and our continuing to serve children together.
