Actually, the years under Jimmy Carter were worse for us. Interest rates at 22%, stagflation and the misery index. The only difference now is that we have managed to accumulate some capital.
I really feel sorry for the kids just starting out, mostly through empathy.
Jimmy blamed everything that moved except himself. Progressives are stupid. Honestly, it is a genetic brain disorder.

Yes, under Carter interest rates were horrible for new car purchases, home purchases etc. They were GREAT for my grandparents and their CD’s though.

I was 8 years old when Reagan was first elected.. All I remember about those times was when Reagan won all but Minnesota in his reelection bid.
I remember as a kid we where solid middle class. then again, at that time, both my parents worked for the government.
