By voluntarily entering a hospital- especially in a non-emergency situation, you pretty much agree to the rules of the hospital. It sounds to me like Kennedy experienced what is commonly known as a “nutty episode”. I wonder if that doctor was with him to try to calm him down.

I’m not sure about the immunization thing. We have a 1 year old grandson and he wasn’t given immunizations before leaving the hospital.
I think overall it was very odd behavior. Who takes an infant for ‘fresh air’ at 2 days old in the winter? And to not hold the baby properly so you can attack someone? There’s a lot here I don’t understand.
The hospital didn’t want to release us with our third child because we didn’t have an infant carrier carseat. We had a convertible carseat that was already strapped in the car. They said policy was that she had to be strapped into her carrier carseat and placed on my lap in the wheelchair to be wheeled out to the car.
I told them I wasn’t going to send my husband out to buy a carrier seat just so I could follow their policy and that I was leaving whether they discharged us or not. I carried my baby in my arms out to the car and put her in the carseat. It was ridiculous!
I’m with you. It’s his child; the wife seemed agreeable with it as well. Did you see the part where it claimed that the baby’s head was violently shaken during all this? I find the story a bit incredible.
First it was the social security number that was mandatory in a hospital; now it’s immunizations. The nazification of the U.S.A. and health care system is almost complete.
RFK Jr. has been very active campaigning against vaccines.
If this story did not contain the name "Kennedy" the replies on this thread would have taken an entirely different character. As it is, the posts do not reflect creditably on FreeRepublic.
Having a government of laws rather than men is not a one-way street.
I wouldn’t allow my newborn to have those BigPharma shots either. Perhaps that’s the issue. But if Kennedy didn’t want the baby to have shots, he should have arranged to have the child delivered at home. Or at some other place where they are not mandatory.

I am thinking the government mandated immunizations had something to do with this. Is it possible a Kennedy has responded to a “Nanny State” mandate forced upon hospitals?

Absolutely no one has the right to prevent a father or mother from the right to remove their child from any place, time or for any reason.
All of this hoopla about human rights....that includes babies doesn’t it? You would think so but on this matter.....crickets chirping.
As a “kicker” to this story I hate all of the Kennedy clan.
