Two American officers killed in Afghan Interior Ministry

Reuters – 1 hr 39 mins ago

Two American officers were shot dead at close range inside Afghanistan's Interior Ministry on Saturday, a U.S. official said, as rage gripped the country for a fifth day over the burning of the Muslim holy book at a NATO base.

"For obvious force protection reasons, I have also taken immediate measures to recall all other ISAF personnel working in ministries in and around Kabul," said General John Allen, adding that the attacker's actions "will not go unanswered".

The two American officers, advisers to the ministry, were fired on at close range, a U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Afghan security sources said the two dead were a U.S. colonel and major with NATO forces.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the shootings.

Here’s n oldie from the so called human prisoner pyramid stories came out. “Letter of Apology” was written by Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman, US
Marine Corps, Retired:

I humbly offer my opinion here:

I am sorry that the last seven times we Americans took up arms and sacrificed the blood of our youth, it was in the defense of Muslims(Bosnia, Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait, etc.).

I am sorry that no such call for an apology upon the extremists came after
9/11.

I am sorry that all of the murderers on 9/11 were Islamic Arabs.

I am sorry that most Arabs and Muslims have to live in squalor under
savage dictatorships.

I am sorry that their leaders squander their wealth.

I am sorry that their governments breed hate for the US in their religious
schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.

I am sorry that Yassar Arafat was kicked out of every Arab country and
high-jacked the Palestinian “cause.”

I am sorry that no other Arab country will take in or offer more than a
token amount of financial help to those same Palestinians.

I am sorry that the USA has to step in and be the biggest financial
supporter of poverty stricken Arabs while the insanely wealthy Arabs blame
the USA for all their problems.

I am sorry that our own left wing, our media, and our own brainwashed
masses do not understand any of this (from the misleading vocal elements of
our society like radical professors, CNN and the NY TIMES).

I am sorry the United Nations scammed the poor people of Iraq out of the
“food for oil” money so they could get rich while the common folk suffered.

I am sorry that some Arab governments pay the families of homicide bombers
upon their death.

I am sorry that those same bombers are brainwashed thinking they will
receive 72 virgins in “paradise.”

I am sorry that the homicide bombers think pregnant women, babies,
children, the elderly and other noncombatant civilians are legitimate
targets.

I am sorry that our troops die to free more Arabs from the gang rape rooms
and the filling of mass graves of dissidents of their own making.

I am sorry that Muslim extremists have killed more Arabs than any other group.
I am sorry that foreign trained terrorists are trying to seize control of
Iraq and return it to a terrorist state.

I am sorry we don’t drop a few dozen Daisy cutters on Fallujah.

I am sorry every time terrorists hide they find a convenient “Holy Site.”

I am sorry they didn’t apologize for driving a jet into the World Trade
Center that collapsed and severely damaged Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox
Church - one of our Holy Sites.

I am sorry they didn’t apologize for flight 93 and 175, the USS Cole, the
embassy bombings, the murders and beheadings of Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl,
etc....etc!

I am sorry Michael Moore is American; he could feed a medium sized village
in Africa.

We hang out our dirty laundry for the entire world to see. We move on.
That’s one of the reasons we are hated so much. We don’t hide this stuff
like all those Arab countries that are now demanding an apology.

Deep down inside, when most Americans saw this reported in the news, we
were like - so what? We lost hundreds and made fun of a few prisoners.
Sure, it was wrong, sure, it dramatically hurts our cause, but until
captured we were trying to kill these same prisoners. Now we’re supposed to
wring our hands because a few were humiliated?

Our compassion is tempered with the vivid memories of our own people
killed, mutilated and burnt amongst a joyous crowd of celebrating
Fallujahans.

If you want an apology from this American, you’re going to have a long
wait! You have a better chance of finding those seventy-two virgins.

>>>>. If any of their minions attack us again, trash their infrastructure back to the stone age like my parents told me the US and their allies did in WWII...

First civilized world is blackmailed by Oil and now civilized world are committing suicide by not drilling, destroying dams to protect fish and “GO Green”, march towards stoneage.

During WWII, real men were fighting, real European men died during WWI and WWII, now leftover are docile bunch ready to commit suicide.
Same is with US, they are hostage of San Francisco liberals and marching towards stoneage.
US is also missing its WWII men and Plan Parenthood is winning.

If we had a REAL President, instead of that disgusting Kenyan porch monkey, we would bomb the living hell out of ALL of those savages and be done with them.

MrT5 was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco for a few years years-he disliked the town and its insanity with such a passion that I stayed here with his blessing and we did the long distance military marriage thing until he was sent back here to Texas and Ft. Sam Houston.

Now of course the military has been banished from San Fran, and I don’t hear anyone saying it is a shame that posting is no longer available. Let the left coast keep the place-MrT5 was overjoyed to have Ft. Sam be his last posting.

Yeah, but it is okay to murder Christians, outlaw and burn Bibles in muzzie countries. And they call this “religion” a religion of peace? More like pieces of bodies scattered around after the bombs go off.

"I thought we could go in, stabilize the country, put the beginnings of a government and infrastructure, and get out."

We could have, and we had a very good model to work from...Imperial Japan.

Up until VJ Day, the Japanese people considered Hirohito a god, and their fanatic zeal reflected that. Not unlike the Afghan tribes, they respected only power and saw any indication of surrender or appeasement as a sign of weakness to be punished.

What it took was a crushing, humiliating military defeat to rock their world, undermine their belief system, get their attention and convince every man, woman and child they dare not f*ck with us again. Once that's been accomplished, install a military governor and force them to prove they are capable of self-governance.

If we weren't willing to do this from the outset, we should have never gone in the way we did. They speak the language of brute force and ignorance, and we've attempted to engage them in the niceties of western diplomacy.

"Every attempt to make war easy and safe will result in humiliation and disaster."

~ William T. Sherman ~

The amazing thing is that it is usually not Republicans who denigrate religion anyway,I am not saying conservatives are all that fond of Muslims but I highly doubt anyone during the Bush years would have been stupid enough to burn a Koran in its host country.

The liberals’s own contempt for any kind of organized religion and their ignorance ultimately led to this.It is not that the actions of the Afghans are justified in any way,I doubt the officers or the soldiers killed had anything to do with the burning of the Koran and even if they did.......why prosecute them in the first place or kill them?

But again the liberal leadership failed to understand why you don’t mess with religious symbols and screwed everyone serving in this country.

Pull out of Afghanistan and carpet bomb it with pork products. Threaten and follow through on leveling Mecca if there is any retaliation.

It’s time to end this now.

I am very saddened over the treatment of our military. Back to back and extended tours, constant pc orders and even training on how not to offend the muslims. What do they get? forced OUT in some cases, slashes in benefits and constantly in fear of some outrageous reprimand from the higher ups. ENOUGH IS A DAMN NUFF!

proud daughteer of a Navy Chief, USN Ret and proud wife of a Navy Chief, USN Ret. As far as I am concerned our commander in chief can go to hell.
