Mitt Romney spoke to several empty seats Friday in Detroit, in a speech that offered Democrats more fodder for their attacks and failed to deliver the major economic address his campaign promised.
Television cameras showed rows of empty chairs as Romney rehashed many of the policies and quips he’d used in previous speeches, made a few jokes that appeared to fall flat with the audience and said that his wife, Ann, drives “a couple of Cadillacs,” which will likely give Democrats more ammunition for their depiction of him as rich and out of touch.
The former Massachusetts governor also repeated a line that has been the butt of jokes by late-night comedians — that Michigan has good-sized trees.
“This feels good, being back in Michigan,” he said. “The trees are the right height. The streets are just right.”
Romney then listed the various cars he and his wife own.
“I drive a Mustang and Chevy pickup truck,” he said. “Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs, actually. I used to have a Dodge truck, so I used to have all three [Detroit manufacturers] covered.”

Did you see tha announcement that the speech was being moved to accomodate the expected turn out. They showed a picture of all the empty seat this morning...Pathetic.
I’d be a lot more concerned about that bizarre perfect Michigan trees speech he’s given a couple of times.
I do not like Romney, but he sure takes a lot of flak for his success monetarily. Maybe if conservatives didn’t use capitalism as ammunition against people the didn’t like, it would be easier to sell to people and defeat liberalism and socialism.

Yep, they tried to keep everyone to the end zone seats and force the cameras in that direction, but a few panned that big, big empty stadium.

Yep, they can jump on him for buying American and helping the American economy. In 2008, Santorum was driving a $42,000 Audi. Maybe he’s got a thing for Angela Merkel.
I don’t want Romney either...but the fact is, if we can get the story out of Obama’s blundering the last three years anybody will beat him.
The problem is the media supports this socialist thug...and they will fight hard by lying, denying the truth, and simply ignoring reality.
We need a way to get past the lying media.

If you don’t understand the tactics of a democratic campaign, and why this is a dumb statement, and if my rich uncle illustration doesn’t help, then I doubt I can do much better.
