DETROIT – A World War II veteran said nobody helped him in the minutes after he was attacked and carjacked during daylight at a busy Detroit gas station and he had to crawl across a concrete parking lot to get help.
A roughly four-minute surveillance video shows 86-year-old Aaron Brantley struggling to get from the fuel pump to the gas station's door as people walked and drove by him Wednesday morning. The video was first obtained by the Detroit Free Press.

No surprise at all. Detroit is nothing more than a savage jungle. Anyone with an ounce of sense needs to get out.
I just wasn’t raised that way. I’ve had way too many decent people give me a hand over the years for my conscience to allow me to ignore an old man on the ground.

“Brantley did manage to get himself up to the door of the gas station. There a lady opened the door so that he could crawl his way inside. Once he got inside, employees called 911, but it took police and the ambulance so long to arrive that Brantley asked one of the customers to take him home.”
The same can be said about virtually every city in the USA and likely the world.

At least during World War II someone would have tried to help him out.... Sad to see what this country has come to.
This happened so fast Brantley didn't get a good description of the suspect, but hopefully somebody knows his identity. His car was recovered a few hours later. The radio was gone along with the wheels. Sadly, this isn't the first time his car has been stolen. He had just gotten it back four days earlier.

The city I live in has a republican mayor and district run by democrats. I always say to neighbors that I have to buy two of everything - one for me and one for someone to steal. Good neighborhoods have to upkeep gutters and public grassy areas themselves. Tax dollars going to bike paths and liberal causes.

The situation is the same in many areas. In the Saint Peters area of Dorchester in Boston, I know of one street that is essentially maintained by a few older retired guys and a few children of said families. The streets are swept, the commone areas mowed and snow blown by these guys, the youngest of whom is a Korean War vet (so I am assuming pushing eighty?). The new immigrants, primarily from Dominica, just don’t care.
No, just a bunch of ill prepared victims in waiting here.......I hate guns, knives, sharp implements, and club-like objects. I have full faith in my fellow citizens of the world. And I for one, welcome our feral overlords.

They're probably so used to seeing old drunks/druggies lying in gutters that they no longer respond. Shameful, but that's how it is.
Obama should apologize to the man for this on live national television.
