‘Top GOP Senator’ To ABC News: If Romney Loses Michigan, ‘He Will Publicly Call’ For Jeb Bush
Mediaite ^ | February 18th | Frances Martel

For those out there loving the current Republican race but worrying that it has become somewhat orthodox in appearance and stable in candidates and support numbers, fear not: ABC News’ Jonathan Karl has the blind item for you. In the most mysterious and, for the GOP, worrisome dispatch on the Republican field in a while, Karl reports that a “prominent Republican senator” told him that the Party will not stand for a Mitt Romney loss in Michigan, and that he expects a result like that to lead the Senator to “publicly call for the party to find a new candidate,” likely former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

“I hate the entire bush mafia. They gave us Clinton and Obama.”

GWB did untold damage to the Republican Party! First, he began with the bogus premise of: “Compassionate Conservatism.” Conservatism is ALWAYS compassionate!

Secondly, he reached out to the Democrats time and time again, while completely ignoring his base!

Thirdly, he never defended himself or his positions...at least in a meaningful way. He in turn made the entire GOP look pathetic and weak!

Sorry, but I don't want to see another New World Order, weak-arse Bush occupying the Oval Office...EVER!

No. No to Jeb Bush. No to Mitt Romney. And No to the GOP if they insist on foisting off either of those onto us.

The Republican establishment knows damned well that the only person Obama wants to run against more than Romney, is any other Bush.

It's becoming increasingly clear the Republican establishment genuinely wants to lose in 2012.

I have hunches as to why, such as the inevitability of a complete collapse in America, and the GOP-e doesn't want it on thier watch.

Time to move on from the Clinton/Bush dynamic. This administration is full of Clinton influence. Very arrogant elite do not want anyone to rock the boat.

What the establishment is basically saying is:

The primaries are not really a contest. If our candidate “wins” you should rally behind him/her. If our candidate is going to lose we’ll get a new one. Screw you. You’re just votes to us.

This is why Romney isn’t going to let this happen. He will win Michigan even if it’s by chicanery. There will be two or three large precincts that won’t report for several hours if it looks like it will be close between him and Santorum, and then lo and behold, they’ll find just the right amount to put Romney over the top.

It’s hard to know who to hate without a scorecard.

I’d like the list of why Jeb Bush is so evil. Spare me the crap about his family, just the facts, ma’am. On Jeb.

And btw I think the whole discussion of Jeb Bush is pointless at this time.

I don't doubt that there are RINOs or RINO-ettes who harbor these thoughts. I'm just suspicious as to why ABC kept his or her name secret.

I don't trust anything I hear or read from ABC Snooze.

Re: your Tag

So many mouthbreathing halfwits on this website have chastised me for condemning RINO candidates. “We need to support the RINOs so we can control the Senate/House.

I’ve actually had one moron state that “we need a candidate that is popular with the late night television hosts (Leno, Letterman, etc...).

I guess we’ve become an Idiocracy!

I just realized in looking at the picture of the Bushes and Obama that it appears that the elder Bush is sitting in a wheelchair.

Karl reports that a “prominent Republican senator” told him that the Party will not stand for a Mitt Romney loss in Michigan

This right here is the crux of the problem.

The "Party" is no longer the rank-and-file who make up the actual membership of the Party. The "Party" is now a small, incestuous group of out-of-touch RINO insiders who've probably spent more collective time inside the beltway than mankind has been on this earth.

The "Party" doesn't give a rip what the actual people who make up their power base think about anything.

I have trouble believing that even the GOP leadership could be this out of touch or this crazy.

It's not out or crazy, it's arrogance. They and their allies at Fox News and Drudge believe that we will bend over and support whoever they crown. And there is some truth to that - they've thrown plenty of liberals at us and we pull the lever for them simply because they have an (R) next to their name.

I don't think it'll work this time though. Too many of us are done voting for liberals just because they have an (R) next to their name. The GOP leadership and their allies at Fox and Drudge are playing chicken with us, and they are going to lose.

I can't tell you how sick I am of the republican establishment and the Bushs.

I'm just a sick of the Republican base and a whole lot of so-called conservatives who are nothing more than ignorant dupes.
